This Week’s MtM Vegas Video

Smoking may soon be a thing of the past as tastes have started to change in the gaming space. We learned that customers long thought to reject the idea of non-smoking casinos have largely been supporting them in higher numbers. As Plaza announces a non-smoking casino space along with other new enhancements one has to wonder if this will become the next trend in Vegas casinos.

In other news we’ll discuss Las Vegas Weekly’s pick for best Strip casino and Vegas Loop now has full approval for its entire 29 mile stretch which will include up to 51 stations when complete. We also check in on the very empty Virgin Hotels on a Friday night, discuss why MGM Grand Detroit is surprisingly good and learn how Paris is losing another unique dining venue to Guy Fieri.

  1. The Ice Age was real in the 70s!!! It was on the cover of Time Magazine!! I guess I missed it. Climate runs in cycles and man only contributes to less than 3% of it. You aren’t changing anything, just like you’re not going to stop a volcanic eruption or sea burp.

Note to Sean… please make these links easy to find. You have a great site and I have followed you for years, but please make links easy to find.

  2. I have confidence in America to solve the water crisis in the west. It may take years or decades, but we will solve it through innovation of some type or pumping water all over the country….from water rich areas to water poor areas. We will figure it out. As for smoke free casinos and hotels in Vegas…..we just came back from the Park MGM. Loved the no smoke environment throughout the property. It is great. I hope it spreads!!

  3. I think anyone with smarts that owns property in Vegas would be looking to sell before Lake Mead finally cannot give with water OR power or both! Once that happens, Vegas is DOA and values will go to nothing. Climate change is real and the worst drought in over 1,200 years ain’t gonna let up. Time to bail while one still can.
