Plastiq Adds New Delivery Fee

Plastiq is a service that lets you use a credit card to pay for services that don’t accept credit card payments directly. This obviously comes with a fee, and now it getting slightly more expensive.

Plastiq charges a 2.9% fee for payments funded with credit cards, but there is no base fee for payments sent using the bank account payment method.

But, as of October 24, 2023, you will also have to pay am additional delivery fee, which vraries based on the delivery method. You can see the list of fees below:

Payment Delivery Method Delivery Fee
Check/Cheque $1.49
ACH Bank Transfer $0.99
Billpay $0.99
EFT $0.99
Domestic Wire $8.99
International Wire $39.00

Plastiq provides a breakdown of these fees on the payment review screen prior to the submission of your payment, so you can see all the fees you’re paying.

The 2.9% fee already cancels out any credit rewards you would earn. And now you will have to pay an extra delivery fee of $0.99 or $1.49 depending on the delivery method. That additional fee might be negligible for large payments, but makes smaller payments more expensive.
