An Awesome Portal Experience
Good morning everyone. A lot of my miles & points strategy revolves around shopping portals. I religiously use Cashback Monitor to ensure I am getting the best rebate when shopping online and always go through a portal before making a purchase. Yesterday I came across a deal for printer toner (that I need) at Super Media Store. You may have never heard of Super Media Store, but I have actually purchased things from them before. I also know that they used to pay quite a lot through portals.
Unfortunately their portal payouts aren’t what they once were, but Top Cashback had the best rate of return at 4%. Not a huge amount, but every penny counts. So I clicked through Top Cashback and placed my order at 10:26am, the cashback confirmation came at 11:42am and the product shipped at 1:34pm. Pretty outstanding.
Super Media Store is a small company so my guess is they have someone there to approve the transactions as they come in. This is by far the fastest I have ever seen a purchase post to a cashback portal. It generally takes a few days in my experience.
It can be easy to forget to check for cashback, so I appreciate portals like Top Cashback that email you when a purchase posts. While I don’t expect future purchases to show up so quickly, at least now I know that it is possible.
How about you? What is the quickest you have ever seen a purchase post to a shopping portal?

Thought I’d add a data point.
Just had an email cashback confirmation from ebates exactly 1 hour 48 min from making a purchase at Target.com.
I’ve gotten a few TCB transactions within a hour or two. Usually for electronic goods.
Also, to answer your question, the quickest I’ve had a confirmation of cb was ebates, somewhere between 12-24 hour after purchase. Upromise is probably the slowest (but is typically one of the most lucrative for major stores).
IME topcashback is also, by far, the most shady cash back site I’ve ever encountered. They sent me a mistake email with a mistake cash back offer (which wasn’t outlandish, was only a few % above the going rate), I made a purchase in excess of $500, they wouldn’t honor the cash back rate and had several mishaps where they stepped on each others toes to contradict each other and eventually told me there was nothing they could do for me. Was a loss for me of about $30. I was lied to, told the email didn’t exist, and overall I avoid this portal like the plague (I’ll use other portals and cb match because I refuse to use them if I can help it).
I don’t seek out writing my experiences with TCB, but anytime I see it being shown in a positive light, I feel it’s my due diligence to point out a horrible experience with them. My sentiments are also shared if you dig deep enough about TCB.
Fwiw, I have accounts with over half a dozen other cb portals, never had an issue like this with them over the 5+ years I’ve used cb portals.
I have had no issue with Top Cashback with over 100 transactions, but I have no issue with you sharing your experiences! Thanks Anthony.
Is that an office supply store? Do you get 5X with INK or BOLD?
