Rakuten Big Give: 15%-20% Back On Tons Of Stores & A 90% Back Gem

Rakuten is my favorite shopping portal and I pretty much use it exclusively, even when it is slightly less than the best offer.  That is because I rarely have an issue with it tracking and if I do the customer service is pretty good.  Oh yeah, you can earn Membership Rewards instead of cashback as well which can give some people a 25% boost! They are running a promo this week, Rakuten Big Give, that has some insane payouts for stores.  I’ll highlight a few of the best ones and they also have a great referral promotion too.

Rakuten Big Give Refer A Friend

Rakuten has a very rewarding refer a friend promotion right now.  If you pair that up with these increased rates and you can rack up some serious coin on your online shopping.  The person who signs up gets $30 after spending $30 and the person that does the referring gets a $30 bonus too.  So get all your family and friends on board!

If you don’t already have an account here is our Rakuten referral.  Thanks for the support if you choose to use it.

Stores With Increased Cash Back

There are a ton of stores right now with increased cash back.  This includes online and some in stores.  Here are some of the better ones I noticed but there are a ton to dig through.

20% Back Stores

Stores With 15% Back
  • Dell – great for Amex Business card credits.
  • Nike
  • Groupon
  • Saks Off 5th – This does not work for Amex Platinum credits
  • Lenovo (my favorite laptop brand)
  • 1-800 Contacts
  • Samsung
  • Athleta / GAP – can try to stack with 20% off Gap cards
  • Adidas
  • American Eagle
  • Office Max / Office Depot
  • GameStop
  • Coach
In Store 15% Back Offers
  • Moosejaw
  • Adidas
  • H&M

LifeLock is also 90% back which I know many people like to use to rack up Membership Rewards. There are also increase sign up bonuses for things like Verizon ($80) and Hello Fresh ($30).

Final Thoughts

At these rates it may be worth stock piling some gifts or buying something you had your eye on for yourself.  I am sure there are some Amex Offer stacks etc. out there as well.  Share your best stack down in the comments!

  1. Another stack on some of these is to use the MileagePlusX app. As an example, Bass Pro Shops is offering 7 miles per dollar and there’s the 25% bonus for having a United card plus the rewards for whichever card you use. My only quandary is that I don’t know if I’ll get the 3 Amex points per dollar if I use my Rakuten card to generate a MileagePlusX gift card. I know it works with Chase Ink cards at OD/Staples but never tried it otherwise. Any thoughts?

    • I have never messed with MileagePlusX much myself so I can’t offer any thoughts there. Hopefully someone else can.

  2. Having a brain lock here. On the 15% cash back… is this the same as 15x points? Assuming I’m getting Membership Rewards points instead of money, if I spend $1, do I get 15 points in return?
    Thanks

    • Yup that is correct. 15X at 1 cent a piece is .15 per $1. So with this you can earn 15X-20X on your purchases.
