Safeway/Vons/just for U Visa Gift Card Deal

Safeway, Vons and other stores with the “just for U” program have a good deal on Visa & Mastercard gift cards this week.

Loading the Offer

This offer comes in the form of a digital coupon that needs to be loaded to your account. Once you load the offer, the $10 discount should come off automatically when you purchase a single $150+ Visa or Mastercard gift card. According to data points on Doctor of Credit, variable load cards seem to be working.

Maximizing

The best option for maximizing is to use a card that earns a category bonus at grocery stores. $500 variable load cards have a $5.95 fee, so you will earn a $4.05 profit per card plus credit card rewards. Depending on your liquidation bandwidth this could be a good deal if you have access to multiple accounts.

Conclusion

The coupon is limited to one-time use only per account. Either way it is a great deal and a great way to get negative cost spend. It may be worth a visit if you have a Safeway or other “just for U” store nearby.

  1. the rape of this deal is really shameless. thats why things get killed. went to a few stores. all gone like OD/DM… i guess early bird gets the worm.
