Sandals Resorts Offers New Vacation Assurance Program on All Reservations
Sandals Resorts International, which includes Sandals Resorts and Beaches Resorts, has launched the Sandals Vacation Assurance program, which guarantees a free replacement vacation for guests who are impacted by COVID-19.
With travel restrictions quickly changing around the world, planning ahead is no longer the safe bet it used to be. The CDC continues to add new countries to its highest “Level 4: High Risk” category. European countries continue to add restrictions for Americans. Rules keep changing in other parts of the world as well.
Sandals Resorts wants to take worrying about Covid, out of the equation. Current reservations and those made through December 31, 2021 for travel until December 31, 2022 will receive the Sandals and Beaches Vacation Assurance Protection at no extra charge.
The program includes a free replacement vacation if the trip is interrupted by a COVID-19-related issue during the vacation. You also get replacement airfare credit for up to $500 per person, up to 14 days of quarantine time for free, free on-site COVID-19 testing and travel insurance.
The Beaches Vacation Assurance Protection plan also includes a free cancellation with a full refund when canceled 31 days or more prior to travel. Guests who cancel within 30 days of travel can reserve their vacations for a later travel date. Also included is a Vacation Assurance Hotline to help guests and travel advisors navigate COVID-19-related travel questions.

Sandals is a fantastic group! We are frequent Sandals travelers and they have done a fabulous job during the pandemic. After all, almost all their resorts are located on islands that thrive on tourism. Without tourism, many many people would be out of work and establishments would close permanently as we have seen. But Sandals has so many failsafe options in place to assure you will not lose points, or dollars unlike other organizations which have restricted points and taken hard earned dollars away from travelers. Even the on site testing for rentry into the US is as seamless and efficient as possible. Sandals ranks as one of our favorites and it is about making money. But it is also about keeping loyalty programs for loyal travelers and not just taking away from the folks who may be directly affected. I much rather be part of the Sandals family than the Marriott family of which we own. Great job Sandals. Maybe Marriott could learn a thing or two from you.
