Sinemia Matches Moviepass Pricing, Offers New Plan
Sinemia has been smelling blood in the movieplan water. Moviepass has been leaking like a sieve and Sinemia has been throwing life preservers to every Moviepass customer they can find. First they offered to pay people to make the switch and now Sinemia matches Moviepass pricing and offers a new 2D, 3 movie plan. This is a direct shot at Moviepass and an attempt to try and take them out for good.

Details
Sinemia just announced a new plan that will be $9.99 a month for 3 – 2D movies per month. To avoid the processing fee of $20 you need to pay for a yearly membership up front though.

This matches Moviepass’ plan after Moviepass flip flopped back and forth 8 times and finally settled on something. One perk that comes along with Sinemia’s plan that Moviepass doesn’t offer is the ability to book the movie online and pick your seats. Booking the movie online comes with a separate booking fee so remember to use this trick to avoid the fee at Fandango.
Sinemia has a sale ongoing but it isn’t quite as good as their previous one. If you prefer 3D and 4D movies you can get 3 movies per month for $14.99 or 2 for 9.99. You can lock in the lower prices now if you were considering making the change. If you would like to use a referral you can use ours HERE.
Remember that Moviepass is giving some annual members until 8/31 to cancel and get a refund.
Conclusion
This is a savvy business move on Sinemia’s part. This matches Moviepass’ price and their 3 movie limit per month but Sinemia also adds the ability to book the movie online. I still think the AMC Stubs A-List is the best of the bunch. That is if you frequent AMC locations at least.
Has Sinemia convinced you to finally make a change? Let me know in the comments section.

the $20 processing fee is such a scam though..
any way to avoid that for monthly?
Not that I know of unless they run a sale – trying to drive you to the yearly commitment.
I’m confused. Do you have to book online? If so, it’s only a matter of time before the 1.50 trick goes offline, and instead of sticking with MoviePass (despite its eventual demise), you’re spending much more in booking fees. No?
I think they are leaning towards booking online so it is something you need to consider. Most people are not even able to use MP because they are limiting movies and times so something to consider there as well. There are other options outside of Fandango like Atom as well. Both have their own rewards system too which gets some of the cost back. All things you need to weigh with your decision though.
