Act Now Before These Offers Drop & Lock Up 2 Years Of The Companion Pass!

Some Of These Offers May Have Changed

The Southwest Companion Pass is one of the best, if not the best, things in travel.  And if you time it right you can take someone on all of your future Southwest flights for FREE for the next two years.  To do it you need to time it right and you need to earn an astounding 110,000 Southwest Rapid Rewards points in one year.  Luckily for us credit card welcome offers work towards that goal and now is the perfect time to snag them.  If you sign up for them now but earn the welcome offers in the beginning of 2020 you could have that Companion Pass for close to 24 months!

The Limited Time Credit Card Offers Ending 10/16/19

Some Of These Offers May Have Changed

First things first if you need more info on the Companion Pass then read this guide on it. The Chase Southwest cards all have limited time offers that are ending in a few days.  We are not sure what they will be after that date but the offers are usually lowered at the end of the year. And if you apply now you have until the middle of January to earn the welcome offer (90 days from approval) which is perfect timing for having the points post in 2020.  You can actually complete the minimum spend anytime AFTER your December statement closes. Let’s take a look at the current, increased offers:

Southwest Performance Business Card

The Southwest Performance Business credit card has the following offer:

  • Earn 80,000 Rapid Rewards points after spending $5,000 within the first 90 days.
  • The $199 annual fee is NOT waived the first year.
  • Learn More

The card comes with these following perks:

  • 3 points per dollar that you spend on Southwest Airlines.
  • 2 points per dollar that you spend on social media and search engine advertising, internet, cable, and phone services.
  • 1 point per dollar on everything else.
  • 9,000 Rapid Rewards points every anniversary (worth around $135)
  • 4 upgraded boardings per year (when available).  Perfect if you forget to check in.
  • Up to 365 $8 in flight WiFi credits.
  • 1,500 TQPs per $10,000 in spend, up to 15,000 TQPs per year
  • $100 credit for Global Entry or TSA Precheck (once every 4 years)

The coolest perk of the Southwest Performance Business credit card has to be WiFi credits and yes you can use them on other people 😉.  People are already seeing 70K offers on other links for this card so it will most likely be dropping by 10,000 miles.

The Southwest Personal Cards

Next up are the Southwest personal card offers.  They all have the same offer currently.  We are not sure what the offers will drop to but it is likely it will be in the 40,000-50,000 point range.  Here is the current offer for all 3 cards:

  • 40,000 points bonus after $1,000 in spend within 3 months of card membership.
  • An additional 20,000 bonus points after an additional $12,000 in spend within the first 12 months of card membership.
  • Learn More

Here are some of the perks for each card:

Chase Southwest Plus Card

First up is the Chase Southwest Plus card.  This card comes with the lowest annual fee at $69 and a 3,000 point anniversary bonus each year.  This card is best suited for the less frequent Southwest flyer since the annual fee is the lowest.

Chase Southwest Premier Card

The Chase Southwest Premier card comes with a slightly higher $99 annual fee.  It doesn’t really come with any extra perks over the Plus card except the anniversary bonus is 6,000 points.  If you plan on holding the card long term then this is the better option since you are getting 3,000 more anniversary points for only $30 more.

Chase Southwest Priority credit card

Last but far from least is the Chase Southwest Priority credit card. This is the best option for frequent Southwest flyers.  It has the highest annual fee, at $149, but has the most perks too:

  • You get a $75 Southwest travel credit every year
  • 7,500 anniversary points each year
  • 4 Upgraded Boardings per year when available.
  • 20% back on in-flight drinks and WiFi.
  • Learn More

Final Thoughts

The business card is the best offer of the bunch in my opinion. And that WiFi credit perk is pretty amazing.  If you can get that card and pair it up with one of the personal cards then you will have more than enough points for the Companion Pass for the next two years.

Remember that all of these offers fall under Chase 5/24 and the Southwest Family Rule.  So be sure you are eligible before applying.
