  1. Shawn, it’s the French who most opposed rules most, not the Americans.

    American rules – you do anything unless it’s prohibited
    French rules – you do anything even if it’s prohibited
    German rules – you don’t do anything unless it is permitted
    Russian rules – you don’t do anything even if it is permitted
