Southwest Offers Free Flight Changes

Southwest Offers Free Flight Changes Due to Winter Storm Elliott

Winter Storm Elliott is expected to cause major headaches around the country, and will surely impact air travel.

It is moving eastward toward the Plains, Midwest and Great Lakes, where it will produce snow and high winds, including blizzard conditions in spots, as it potentially grows into a bomb cyclone. It could also bring a flash freeze to parts of the Midwest, East and South.

In anticipation of the storm impacting its service, Southwest Airlines is offering increased flexibility to customers across a large part of its network.

The airline says that based on the forecasted weather conditions for many airports, its scheduled service may be disrupted. Flights may be delayed, diverted, or even canceled).

Customers holding reservations to/from/through the cities listed below on the corresponding dates, may rebook in the original class of service or travel standby (within 14 days of their original date of travel between the original city-pairs and in accordance with our accommodation procedures) without paying any additional charge.

  1. I’m one of those being offered a change but the problem is… No way to know what might happen with your original flight. Do I proactively change and if I do, what do I change it to? And might the flight I change it to get delayed or cancelled.
