Uber Visa Local Offers, Earn 10% in Uber Credits at Many Merchants
Uber has reintroduced Visa Local Offers, a way for Uber riders across the U.S. to earn Uber credits by spending at nearby restaurants, shops, and local businesses with the eligible U.S. issued Visa card on their Uber account.
Riders will need the latest version of the Uber app and an eligible U.S. issued Visa card on their Uber account to enroll in Visa Local Offers. Once your card is added, it’s simple to get started:
- Start Uber app
- Go to Menu and select Settings
- Scroll down and select Visa Local Offers
- Tap ‘Count Me In’
Here’s some of the offers (will vary by location):
- 10% back at Walgreens
- 10% back at Staples
- 10% back at Whole Foods
- 10% back at Dunkin Donuts
- and more
Conclusion
This is a great option for Uber riders. The Visa Local Offers have been reintroduced and are even better that what we saw last year. Most people will shop at these merchants anyway, so if you regularly use Uber, this could be as good as an extra 10% back on top of the credit card rewards you already get. Credits earned from Visa Local Offers do not expire.

Is there a list somewhere of all the retailers that count for Uber credit?
Theorically you can double dip, 5x ink + 10%uber. I dunno if Staples VGC counts or not. I used a csp in walgreen purchased $100 shell gc, got $10 uber within 2 minutes.
How can I see the local offers once I am signed up? The only way I’ve figured out how to see them is to “opt out” and then “opt in” again.
So, it has to be a VISA card, to get 10% back from Staples? My Chase Ink Plus card is MC, so I won’t be able to avail of this offer I guess, right?
How can your Ink+ be MasterCard? I’m pretty sure it’s Visa…
My Ink card is also an MC. Its old and Chase hasn’t converted it yet.
me neither
Isn’t coming up in my updated app??
Not showing in mine either
I think it is dependent on your location
