Foreigners Can Enter US in November with Proof on Any of Six Covid Vaccines
In September, the United States announced a new international air travel system that will be introduced “early November”. This new system would open travel for vaccinated foreign nationals and introduce some new requirements for unvaccinated Americans.
However, that initial announcement did not specify which vaccines would be accepted for entry to the country.
Now we have more details on how the new system will work. “Earlier this week, to help them prepare their systems, we informed airlines that the vaccines that are FDA authorized/approved or listed for emergency use by WHO will meet the criteria for travel to the U.S.,” CDC spokesperson Caitlin Shockey told USA TODAY.
That would include the three vaccines that are administered in the United States, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer-BioNTech, as well as the Oxford-AstraZeneca/Covishield, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines which are approved by the World Health Organization.
“CDC will release additional guidance and information as the travel requirements are finalized,” Shockey said.
The exact date for the launch of the new system has not been confirmed yet.

So does that mean foreigners would not have to undergo COVID antigen testing within 3 days of arriving in the US if vaccinated? I am a US citizen residing in the US and vaccinated – going to Spain Oct 25 and have to go thru hoops to get tested within 3 days of coming back— would not the same rules apply to nonUS people entering the US?
Surprised that Sinopharm and Sinovac will be eligible.
Eh, probably too much manufacturing/trade at stake there. Maybe China just holds on to all those containers until there’s reciprocity….
Russia gets the middle finger though.
I’d get either one of those over the mRNA ones.
