Vaccines or Negative Tests for Air Travel
Covid vaccines or a negative test could be a requirement for domestic air travel in the future. One senator and 35 members of the House of Representatives have sent a letter to the White House, requesting a mandate that domestic airline passengers provide proof of vaccination or a negative test to board a plane.
“As the nation approaches holiday season, we ask that you put in place requirements for airline passengers to provide proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 or a negative test to board a domestic flight,” the letter says. “This is a necessary and long overdue step toward ensuring all Americans feel safe and confident while traveling and reduce the chances of yet another devastating winter surge.”
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has already mandated the use of masks on airplanes, trains, buses and other public transportation. The order was issued in January 2021 and has been extended until January 18, 2022.
For now that will likely be the only requirement. So far, no airlines based in the United States have asked customers for proof of vaccination in order to fly. Also, there’s no indication from the White House of any such immediate plans.
Trade associations such as Airlines for America and the U.S. Travel Association are against vaccine mandates. The additional hurdle would likely have a big negative effect on the airline industry. But the senator and 35 members of the House of Representatives say that “Americans remain reluctant to spending extended periods of time in enclosed public
spaces due to the risk of COVID-19 exposure.” And, proof of vaccination or a negative test
for domestic flights will help alleviate these concerns.”
In reality this doesn’t seem to be the case so much, with travel levels soon surpassing pre-pandemic levels.

I’m sick of seeing in-flight and gate staff abused by covidiots. It’s time to require and enforce a vaccine mandate to travel.
masks lead to emotional issues. u are the covidiot for not knowing this.
U work for pHARMa? PR agent? Online retailer?
vaccination PROLONGS the “pandemic”
I am fully vaccinated and think people should get the jab but I also support individual choice. If I’m required by law to show a vaccine card to fly, I’ll stop flying. Simple as that.
These mandates are going to crush our economy. Already have a supposed worker shortage and now right before the biggest shopping time of year, we tell companies to fire their employees. And then we’re going to crash the airline industry with new mandates. No thanks!
But let’s be honest, Congress will do whatever they damn well please despite the wishes of “we the people”. So I say choose one…mask mandate or vax mandate but not both. Otherwise it is all political theater with no real goal in mind other than control!
A ‘vaccine’ that doesn’t stop transmission and requires boosters every 6 months.
And the public just lines right up.
I am pro-vaccine all the way BUT ZERO support for any mandates. What a sick disgusting thought to keep forcing people to do this. I am ashamed of our great “free” country.
When it’s mandated for them I would consider it.
I think it is a spectacular idea and I hope it happens for ALL travel… Plane, train, bus, taxi, uber, etc.! Besides, anyone who won’t get a vaccination is an idiot and should stay home.
Forcing experimental medicine into people before fully understanding how long immunity lasts..great idea! Also the fact that science has now proven those who had Covid have better immunity then the vaccinated proves the government is strong-arming people… not using science to guide decision making. It is so sad to see.
Hmmm, a mandate isn’t forcing anything. If your employer mandates a vaccine, you can quit. If you don’t like the scanners at airports, you can not fly. Simple.
Love your logic, arlington traveler.
Basically – if you don’t comply, you get treated as a second class citizen.
This stuff from the 60s didn’t play out well.. and it won’t today.. and all over a “vaccine” that really doesn’t work in the long run.
This will never happen, and deep down, these Congress Critters all know it, except for Feinstein, who’s more gone in the head than Biden is.
