Find Out Visa Rules for Every Country, For Your Passport

If you travel often, then remembering visa requirements for every country might get a bit tricky. Depending on what passport (or passports) you have, the rules of entry could differ for each destination. And on top of that, these rules keep on changing all the time.

With an American passport, you likely will not have many issues, but there’s still plenty of countries that require you to apply for a visa. A United Arab Emirates passport would be the best travelling tool actually, if you are able to get one.

Well, to keep track of all the visa rules, there’s a website that lets you choose the passport you hold, and tells you everything you need to know for every country in the world.

The website Passport Index has a database of all of the passports in the world. It offers visa information for them, supposedly updated in real time, as well as a global ranking of passports. It also offers suggestions on how you can improve your Global Mobility Score by obtaining an additional passport, if that’s an option.

Here’s some information for the US passport for example. It tells you the visa rules of each country, if you’re traveling with an American passport.

But the US passport doesn’t rank 1st. That title goes to the United Arab Emirates, whose passport is ranked as the most powerful in the world with a Visa-Free Score of 168. The United States has a Visa-Free score of 165, ranked in the 4th tier of most powerful passports out there, alongside France, Japan, Ireland, Malta etc..

  1. To get easy, detailed information, I like the IATA Travel Centre. It gives you the same information airlines use to stamp DOCS OK.
