Day 243 – Wednesday December 19, 2007 – Dunedin, New Zealand
If you have been following this site for a while then you must know by now that I love trains. I was excited on Wednesday because Shawn Reece and I were going to ride a historic train deep into the mountains. While Jasmine decided not to join us on the train, we had a few hours in the morning before our 2pm departure, so we decided to make the most of it.
Our first stop of the morning was at the Otago Museum. This museum contained a collection of historical and biological artifacts similar to other regional museums we have seen in New Zealand. Of particular interest to us was an Egyptian Mummy and some phenomenal ancient Greek statues. I have to admit at this point we are a little museumed out and oddly enough, we took more pleasure in taking pictures of Tiki men and getting eaten by crocodiles.
