If you follow the points & miles community, then surely you have seen the kickstarter to send Ben from One Mile At A Time on a flight in one of Etihad’s new residences. Well today, in an effort to draw attention to a more serious matter, Drew at Travel Is Free started a campaign of his own.
Essentially, he is trying to raise money to help his wife’s sister and her husband adopt a special needs child from Ukraine. If you have never seen his blog, then I highly recommend it. Drew is not only one of the best miles & points bloggers, but he is a really nice guy. I have chatted with him a few times in the past and he has always been more than helpful.
While neither of these projects is mutually exclusive, I wanted to highlight Drew’s project since Ben’s has received so much attention. Kickstarter doesn’t allow charity and charges high fees, so Drew is running the campaign himself. You can find out all of the details about the project, how to donate and the perks he is offering at Travel Is Free. I think this is a great cause and it still baffles me how expensive it is to adopt a child.
