Introduction
Edin Chavez is a Miami based professional photographer who takes mindblowing photos. I met him on my recent trip to India and was impressed with both his passion for photography and his love of life. He currently blogs at EdinChavez.com where you can also find a portfolio of his photos including some amazing shots from the abandoned Six Flags New Orleans park. (You know I can’t resist theme parks!)
I sincerely hope you enjoy this second part of our travel blogger interview series. If Edin’s words or photos interest you then please visit his site and I promise that you won’t be disappointed. I want to thank Edin for letting me showcase some of his work here. We all know that Miles To Memories will probably never see better photos! Enjoy!
Interview
1. How long have you been writing/blogging about travel and why did you start?
I have been blogging for 4 years. The reason I started blogging was because I wanted to use it as another creative outlet. It is also another great way to share my photos with the world. I wanted to have a voice to the world and this was a great way for it to be heard.
2. What was your first memorable travel experience/trip?
I have traveled all over the world and had many fantastic experiences. The one trip that stands out was my very first trip to Europe with 3 of my best friends. We went all over the place, but I think the funnest was our time in Amsterdam. We were young, had a bunch of money and were a little crazy. Many crazy things happened there and it was a fantastic and memorable trip.
3. Can you tell me what makes your blog unique?
My blog is very personal in the sense that each photo is a part of me.
4. What is your absolute favorite place in the world and why?
My favorite place is Yosemite, California. There is something that is unique & magical about it. I can’t explain why, but when I am there, I feel like I am the only one on the planet.
5. Can you share a useful travel tip with my readers? Something that you have learned through your own travel experiences
Not sure if this is a tip or not, but getting completely lost every now and then, to the point were you are actually scared for your life can be an amazing experience. It may not be funny while it is happening, but after its over you can laugh at it over a beer.
6. What inspires you?
Happy people. I want to know they are smiling and I want to smile with them. (Shawn: I have met few people who laugh & smile as much as Edin!)
7. What is your overall favorite travel experience and why?
So many, but they are all special in their own ways. One in particular was a trip to Mexico where I was traveling by myself & went a little crazy. I went to Baja, and I did everything you can imagine from ziplining in the jungle to partying like crazy with the locals. I also met two dudes from Costa Rica and we became really good friends and painted the town red for two weeks. That was a lot of fun.
8. Why do you continue to travel?
I want to see whats out there. There is so much that we will never see in our lifetime, but I want to shorten that list and see as much as I can. I also want to meet as many people as I can and learn from them all.
9. Backpack or suitcase and why?
I carry a suit case, because I like to travel in style .
10. Do you have anything else to share with my readers?
My photographs 🙂
Conclusion
I personally want to thank Edin for taking the time to answer my questions and for allowing me to share some of his work here. Too see more of his amazing photos please visit his website!
