150K Bonus for Platinum Card

150K Bonus for Platinum Card, Plus 10X at Restaurants

American Express has recently launched a new promotion for the Refer-a-Friend program with extra points on dining. Besides the extra points for the referrer, those who sign up for the Amex Gold or Amex Platinum card also get extra rewards for dining purchases worldwide. This is in addition to the welcome bonus.

We already saw a best ever offer for the Amex Gold card yesterday with 90,000 points. And now there’s this insane offer for the Amex Platinum card. With some of these new referral links, you might be able to pull up an offer for 150,000 Membership Rewards points plus the 10X at restaurants worldwide. Check out the details below.

The Offer

  • Earn 150,000 Membership Rewards® Points after you use your new Card to make $6,000 in purchases within your first 6 months of Card Membership.
  • Plus, for a limited time if you apply for this Card by 06/08, you can receive an additional 10x points at restaurants worldwide on up to $25,000 in combined purchases during the first 6 months of Card Membership.
  • $695 Annual Fee (not waived)

The offer could also be on specific referral links only. (Update: This referral seems to show 150K offer.)

Conclusion

Check referral links, and hopefully you are able to see this 150,000 points offer for the Amex Platinum card. If a friend or family member refers you, that could easily be another 20,000 or 30,000 points for them. And don’t forget the 10X on dining that you can earn for the next 6 months.

This is the best offer we have seen for the Amex Platinum card. Let us know if you are able to pull it up through these new referral links.

  1. When does this expire? I would ideally want to open a plat card toward the end of march rather than now. Will it last that long?

    • I haven’t seen a listed end date anywhere. I would assume it should stick around for a week or two but can’t guarantee it.

  2. Anyone have a link for Schwab Platinum (don’t know if they have similar referral offer)? I have the regular Platinum and have been looking to drop it and pick up Schwab for a bonus.

  3. I cancelled a Platinum, I think about 8 ? years ago. I may call them and see if I’m still excluded from the offer. Advice anyone? FYI, your affiliate link did show the 150k offer. FYIIII — Costco’s CitiBank card is much better at extending the warranty for purchases. — Plat is only adding a max of ONE year now, (used to be up to three years??). (I collected from AMEX on a Sony HD TV for ~$300 repair once.)

    • I think you should be good. Might as well try and see if you get the pop up saying you are not eligible but most likely you will be fine if it has been 8 years.
