Amex Launches New Refer-a-Friend Offers
American Express has announced today a new Refer-a-Friend promotion that will give new and existing card members extra rewards on dining PLUS their normal referral bonus. If you have an Amex card, you can refer you friends and family members and earn extra 5x on dining plus up to 30,000 Membership Rewards points. Those who sign up through a referral link get increased offers too.
Update 5/4/2022: A member of our MtM Diamond Lounge noticed a refer a friend offer for 30,000 Membership Rewards points plus 5X on dining on up to $25,000 in spend when it wasn’t there in March. It looks like more people have been targeted for the offer over the past few weeks. Check your accounts!
New Refer-a-Friend Offers
Eligible Amex card members can Refer-a-Friend to apply between March 10th, and June 8th, and if their friend is approved, they can earn an additional 5x rewards or cash back per dollar spent on eligible purchases at U.S. restaurants for 3 months, on up to $25,000.
The extra earning for dining purchases is in addition to the referral bonus that you would normally get for referring friends and family members. These bonuses could be $100 for cash back cards and even as high as 20,000 or 30,000 points if you have a Membership Rewards earning card.
Eligible card members that can refer friends and take advantage of this new Refer-a-Friend offer include: Amex EveryDay® Card Members, Amex EveryDay® Preferred Card Members, Blue Cash Everyday® Card Members, Blue Cash Preferred® Card Members, American Express Cash Magnet® Card Members, American Express Platinum Card Members, American Express Gold Card Members, American Express Green Card Members, Delta SkyMiles American Express Gold Card Members, Delta SkyMiles American Express Platinum Card Members, Delta SkyMiles American Express Reserve Card Members.
New Signup Bonuses
Besides for the extra earning for the referrer, there are also extra points for those who apply and are approved for either the Amex Gold or Amex Platinum card.

This new Refer-A-Friend offer makes every referral bonus better, so this will be useful for everyone. You still get you normal referral bonus, plus the extra 5X in points or cash back for your dining purchases for 3 months.
It gets even better if you have friends or family members who want to apply for either the Amex Gold and Amex Platinum cards. They get the signup bonus (60,000 and 100,000 points respectively right now) and extra earning on dining purchases. The signup bonus for the Amex Gold card has an extra 20% at restaurants worldwide for a whole year, up to $250. The Amex Platinum offer has an extra 10x points on up to $25,000 in purchases for 6 months.

Anyone know if I refer someone from my new platinum (earning 10X on dining) if I get an extra +5X for a total of 16X. In other words does it stack?
