Air Canada Lets You Convert Tickets to Miles or Non-Expiring Vouchers

Air Canada has introduced new option for customers who might want to cancel their tickets down the line. Until now the airline has not been the most generous when it comes to refunds. But the new policy will give passengers a peace of mind when booking tickets. While cash refunds will probably still be hard to get when the airline cancels flights, there are now two options for non-expiring vouchers or miles with a bonus when passengers cancel voluntarily. Let’s check the details.

Air Canada Policy

If you book a flight with Air Canada, you can make a one-time change without a fee for all new or existing bookings made through June 30, 2020 for original travel between March 1, 2020 and June 30, 2021.

Additionally, if you booked directly with Air Canada and you need to cancel for any reason, now you can also:

  • Can convert your ticket to an Air Canada Travel Voucher that has no expiry date OR
  • Convert to Aeroplan Miles with an additional 65% bonus miles (1.3¢ per mile)

For customers who booked through a travel agency, Air Canada is working to make these options available.

You can read more details on the policy here.

Conclusion

The new options will give passengers some peace of mind. Miles with a 60% bonus could give you even more value than the actual flight you are canceling. Non-expiring vouchers are also useful with the uncertainty of air travel right now.

  1. This is the best DEAL that I have read about airline ticket so far! I know a lot of people have already booked their travel in advance , but sadly this pandemic came in. We don’t know yet on when we can travel again without any worries. This DEAL is great since travelers are given a NON-Expiry Vouchers. They can consume it anytime without thinking for any expiration.
