New American Express Credits For Many Co-Branded Cards (Dining & Wireless)

American Express has done it again! They have once again rolled out a ton of new, limited time, credits for cardholders.  This time they focus on co-branded cards instead of their Membership Rewards earning cards.  They are aimed at monthly dining and restaurant credits this time around and it is likely they you will have it on multiple cards in your wallet this time around.  Let’s take a look at the details.

It should be noted that if you have multiples of the same card you will only get it on one card.  You can get multiples in the same card family though.  If you hold all 4 versions of the Hilton card you will get 4 offers etc.  These do not show up on authorized user cards either.

Final Thoughts

I look at this as free money since I dine out enough to cover the multiple credits I have.  Between the 2 no fee Hilton cards, Surpass, Aspire and Business Hilton cards we have I am looking at $550 in credits…that is INSANE!  There are also some big spending offers on the Marriott and Hilton cards that we will cover a little later.

  1. I ended up with $70 in dining credits between 4 cards. I actually saw & added these offers 8PM last night (31 Jan). Soon as I added them I was telling the wife lets go find some open restaurant and food to buy we can eat tomorrow. As I was getting in the car I doubled checked the terms and saw the credits are only good for 11 months (ie. Max $220 total, $20 a month) oh well we did not end uo going out for food, just take our time for the next 11 months 🙂

  2. Are offers showing up bit by bit? Across 4 personal (reg Hilton, reg Everday, Delta Plat, and Bonvoy) and 1 business (Delta Plat), the only offer as of today is $15/month wireless.

  3. Would love a test to see if these trigger for roloads like Starbucks or Chickfila app gift cards. I’m guessing no.

    • So you don’t go to restaurants or use take out?

Hard to imagine why anyone would have to use gift cards or reload of Starbucks acct when this is so easy to use. To each their own I guess.

        • It may work if you purchase a gift card direct from a restaurant but surly would not work from 3rd party. I think its a great idea if you test it let us know. Many restaurant sell discounted GC which are also easier to load and scan use on the store app or you can also load GC to google pay or Raise app to make them scanable. I bought $50 of Jamba Juice GC in store for $30, limited new year sale. Also if someone does not eat out GC purchase would be great way to sell them and make a little extra cash.

Jamba Juice sold $50 worth of GC for $30 I go there allot so its

  4. Nothing and contacted Amex and they said it’s the marketing department’s issue and up to them. So not all will have this offer. Had mine since 2019

    • Interesting – they made it seem like all. I would check the Amex offers in a week or so and see if they are just struggling get all the offers out.

  5. I applied and was approved for the Hilton Biz card on 1/1/21 – the offer is showing in my “offers” sections though. It allows me to add it to my active offers, but the terms say: Offer to enroll is available to existing Hilton Honors American Express Business Card Members who are Basic Card Members prior to January 1, 2021.

I guess I’ll add it and if they claw it back, then I guess they claw it back. In the end won’t hurt to try I suppose.

  6. Upgraded the no AF to the Aspire in December with that first year $0 deal. Both the 5 off 5 and 20 off 20 dining showed up and I was able to add both. However, the T&C leave it a bit open for clawback because it states “existing Hilton Honors American Express Card Members”.

Unfortunately, T&C also exclude “reloading of prepaid cards, purchases of gift cards” as well as “bars, nightclubs, cafeterias, and convenience stores”. It sounds like reloading or even paying at Starbucks won’t work or are at least open to clawback?

    • I think paying would be fine – reloading may be an issue though. Not sure how picky they will be, I would say it would be fine but can’t guarantee it.
