American Express Platinum 100K CardMatch & More
American Express often has low public offers on many of their products. They make up for this with very lucrative targeted offers to gain your business. (If you’re lucky.) Sometimes these offers become public and are able to be used, but for the most part they are one time use.
Last month I wrote that American Express was targeting some people through their CardMatch tool for a 100K Amex Platinum offer among other increased bonuses. Well, it appears the offers I wrote about and more are continuing to surface for some.
Here are the offers that people are being targeted for according to View from the Wing (Note: These offers were pulled up on 2/10/16):
- American Express Platinum – 100K Membership Rewards after $3K spend in 3 months.
- American Express Premier Rewards Gold – 50K Membership Rewards after $1K spend in 3 months.
- Gold Delta SkyMiles by American Express – 50K SkyMiles after $1K spend in 3 months + $50 Delta statement credit.
- American Express Everyday Preferred – 30K Membership Rewards after $2K spend in 3 months.
Offer Analysis
Before I go on, it is important to know that you may not be targeted and may not see any of those offers above. For example, neither my wife nor I are targeted for any of them. It is also important to note that offers come and go, so it doesn’t hurt to check back regularly to see if you are targeted. I check mine about once a month.
As for the offers, here are my thoughts:
Amex Platinum 100K – This is as good as this bonus gets. Remember you can only get it once per lifetime, meaning it is best to get it at 100K if possible.
Amex Premier Rewards Gold 50K – We see this 50K offer more often than the 100K Platinum offer, but it is still about as good as it gets on this card.
Gold Delta SkyMiles 50K – This is a fairly common offer that comes around somewhat regularly.
Amex Everyday Preferred 30K – This is double the public offer and is as high (I believe) as the bonus has gone.
You may also be able to check for targeted offers on the American Express website. I covered how in this post.
No Hard Inquiry & Something New
CardMatch does not require a hard credit inquiry. One thing I did notice is that they have added a new checkbox to CardMatch. It says:
Create a CreditCards.com account and access your credit report and credit score for free. No obligation.
You do not need to create an account to run the check or apply. I simply unchecked the box so no account was created.
Conclusion
CardMatch continues to deliver very good targeted offers to some people. While I know many of you will be disappointed, hopefully some of you will be targeted. In the past several readers have been able to find these offers, so I am hopeful that this will help some of you. Were you targeted for any of the above offers? Let me know in the comments!

If I had the Ameriprise version of the Amex Platinum Card (40k bonus, no annual fee 1st year), can I get the “straight” Amex Platinum card with the 100k bonus, or would Amex consider it the “same” card??
