Amex Gift Cards Are Kind Of Gone From Portals

As reported, American Express gift cards have left the top shopping portals. As of December 19, 2014 both Top Cashback and BeFrugal were the top paying portals at 1.5%.

Unfortunately as of today, neither portal have a cashback payout for Amex gift cards. They do both still have the listing though, only instead of a cashback percentage, they have coupon codes.

At Least One Portal Remains

One portal has been advertising that American Express gift cards would be available until at least December 21, 2014 and to this point they have honored that language. As of now, you can still earn 2 points per dollar through the Virgin America Elevate portal.

Conclusion

While we still don’t know if and when American Express gift cards will return to shopping portals, it is clear that their disappreance has not been exaggerated. If you really are serious about buying them and have a desire for Virgin America points then shop away. If not, then you are out of luck at this point.
