I was just checking my American Express account and found a new Amex Offer for Amazon. As you can see from the screenshot above, American Express will give you a $15 credit back with a purchase of $15 or more! Free money.
This offer appeared on 6 of my 7 total cards. I will keep looking, but I don’t believe this is available to be added via social media yet. (#AmexAmazon doesn’t work for example). I will update this post of it changes.
Some people have reported that none of their cards have received the offer, while others have received it on one or two cards. The offer seems to be highly targeted.
Terms
The offer is good for purchases which are charged and shipped before the end of the year. Here are the full terms.
Offer valid only for purchases at Amazon.com or smile.amazon.com. Purchases made through other merchants or third parties using “Checkout by Amazon” or other Amazon payment methods do not qualify for this offer. Not valid at international or non-English versions of Amazon.com or websites affiliated with or linked to Amazon.com. Must add offer to Card and use same Card for one or more transactions in order to redeem. Your transactions must be made directly at Amazon.com to qualify. Items ordered during the offer period but shipped after 12/31/14 may not count towards your qualifying purchases for the offer. Offer is non-transferable. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account. Enrollment is limited. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 12/31/14, provided that American Express receives information from the merchant about your qualifying purchase. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transactions as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the statement credit. For example, transactions not made directly with the merchant will not qualify. Also, in most cases, you will not receive the statement credit for transactions made with electronic wallets or via third parties. If you use Membership Rewards points for all or any portion of a transaction through the “Shop with Points at Amazon.com” program, the amount of that transaction that you cover with points will not qualify for the offer. Amazon.com is not a sponsor of this promotion.
Conclusion
I highly suggest logging into your American Express account(s) to see if you have been targeted. If you have been, then it is best to register right away. Promos like this simply don’t last forever. Usually they reach the maximum number of registrations fairly quickly!

Had this offer on both my old Blue and the Blue preferred and registered both yesterday. Time to cash in now.
Dang! Not on any of my 5. Will check my AU’s now. But dang! Congrats to you! Wonder if/how/when they’ll roll this out more. And, if not, why were you so lucky to be targeted! 🙂
Interesting. 2 of my wife’s 5 cards had the offer (one of which is her primary – other is my AU). I tried Twitter for one of my cards and it did not work (hopefully YET!).
My guess is that it was highly targeted. Usually when I receive an offer so consistently then that isn’t the case. Many people have reported that they haven’t received it on any of their cards. My guess is that this promotion won’t be any more widespread than it already is.
I checked my Gold, Blue and Delta. Neither had the deal 🙁
Nice deal! I did not have it on any of 11 Amex cards – Plats, Deltas, SPG, Hilton, Everyday, PRG and business cards.
No dice for any of my 5 cards (mix of biz and personal)
I didn’t have this on my SPG personal card and my wife’s delta gold card did not have it either. Which AMEX cards did you have it for?
I had it on a few different Blue cards and an Amex Platinum card.
Interesting. I had it on my wife’s AU version of my Platinum card, and her primary Blue card. None of my primary or AU cards had it. But appears to be targeted and primarily to Platinum and Blue cards. Keep us posted if you hear of it expanding to other cards, whether via the online account or Twitter. Thanks!
