Amex Offers Serve & Bluebird Apps

One of the long time benefits of the American Express Serve card has been its ability to be loaded with Amex Offers. Recently Bluebird added this function as well. Since Bluebird & Serve are not traditional American Express cards, the only way to load offers to them has been to sync a social media account.

Thankfully American Express has now added the ability to load Amex Offers to Sync via their apps for both Android and iOS. (Amex Offers are not available their respective websites at this time.) The screenshots in this post are from the Serve app, however the Bluebird app has exactly the same functionality in the same location. Lets take an in depth look.

Access Amex Offers in Serve App

To access Amex Offers, go to the menu in the Serve (or Bluebird) app and you will find a listing for “Amex Offers” at the very bottom as shown below.

On the main Amex Offers screen you can see the offers already loaded to your card along with the options to view the history of Amex Offers on your Serve card. You can also access the “Add Offers” function from here.

When clicking “Add Offers” you will see a full list of offers which are available to be loaded. Unfortunately as you can see they are only showing me one offer for Columbia currently.

Problems with Amex Offers & the Serve App

As you can see, the main issue is that they aren’t listing even close to the full amount of Amex Offers available. On my regular American Express cards there are dozens of offers available, while I only have one on the Serve card. There are also dozens of offers which can be loaded via Twitter for example.

Additionally, I have a lot more than the one offer for Abt Electronics loaded to this card. Above is a confirmation email for the Montblanc offer which is synced to that same exact Serve card. One of my family members also has a Bluebird card which has the exact same issues.

Conclusion

While it is nice to be able to access Amex Offers via the Serve & Bluebird apps, at this time the functionality isn’t complete. The app doesn’t show you all of the available offers and doesn’t even accurately show which offers are loaded to your card. I personally have a separate Twitter account for my Serve card and use SyncAssist to make sure all relevant offers are automatically loaded to it.

With the problems I have found today, I will continue to use my old system. Hopefully they improve the functionality though, since I believe using the app is a more convenient method to access & load offers than social media.
