The battle between Amex, Capital One and Chase is an interesting one with lounges, travel portals and premium cards all being on the table. Perhaps the most exciting thing for me personally is the new Chase lounge coming to Las Vegas Concourse C. It will be the only lounge in that concourse. Eventually LAS will have lounges from all 3 banks. Crazy.

While many have status through their credit card, this could be a nice way to grab some IHG Gold or Platinum status. I haven’t found it very useful in the past (I have had Platinum or better for almost a decade), it is better than nothing.
