Banana Republic Visa Spending Offer
Over the years the Banana Republic card has blessed me with many a great spending offers. While I have been on a bit of a dry spell with the card lately, they finally came through with yet another great deal. Let’s take a look.
The Offer
Through September 30 earn 2X points per dollar spent plus earn a $50 bonus for spending $500.

- For qualifying purchases from July 1 at 12:01 am Eastern – September 30 2018 at 11:59 PM Eastern
- Account must remain open, in good standing, and not become delinquent. Points will post to account within two billing cycles of offer end date

Analysis
While this apparently started July 1, I somehow missed the memo which is why I am posting this now. Make sure to search your email and perhaps look in the snail mail for an offer similar to this. I somehow missed the first email about it, but thankfully they sent a follow up!
If I spend $500 on my card, the return ends up being 12X or $60 on a $500 purchase. OF COURSE I am going to do that. While this isn’t quite uncapped like some spending bonuses before, it is a no-brainer and an easy bonus to hit with a single purchase and move on.
Hacked Rewards?!?
While I am on the subject of rewards from this card, I thought I would mention something that happened about two months back. I had $85 in rewards sitting for awhile that were going to expire. I then printed the certificates (which were valid) and my wife went to a Gap store a couple of days later to redeem them. They were already used.
Somehow someone had hacked the certificates after they were generated. I’m not sure if this is a widespread issue, but the company did easily reissue them, but it’s something to be aware of I guess. So.much.fraud.in.this.world. 🙁
Conclusion
If you have this card and haven’t received a targeted offer in awhile, make sure you are opted-in and don’t forget to search your email in case you missed the offer like I initially did. Even if it’s only store credit, 12X is 12X!

All of my recent Gap Rewards have been used online by someone else. The Bank who manages Gap acts like They don’t know it is an isssue and claim it is impossible.
i have got 3x everywhere for continuous 2 months now . July 1 -31 and again for this month Aug 1- 31.
