Caesars Founderscard Wyndham Match Ended

These past few years in Vegas have been fun! Status has been raining down upon us and the perks have been nice. Unfortunately with the death of the MGM/Hyatt partnership and some new developments with Caesars, that may have ended. Let’s take a look at how Caesars is making it harder to match to Diamond status and why you might not be a “VIP” the next time you roll into Sin City.

Caesars Founderscard Partnership Ended

For over a decade Caesars Entertainment and Founderscard have worked together to provide Diamond status for members. In my opinion this is the single most valuable perk of becoming a Founderscard member. I’ve personally had Diamond status through this partnership for quite a few years and really enjoyed it back in the day when I got free access to Diamond lounges and many other perks. While the benefits of Caesars Diamond have been pared back somewhat, it still comes with free parking, waived resort fees, a $100 celebration dinner and priority access to lines. All good stuff.

Unfortunately that will end for Founderscard members. As of now the Caesars Diamond benefit has been removed from the Founderscard site and only a 10% discount is available. This is a big loss. According to Reddit, here is what a Founderscard rep had to say about it.

I’m sorry to report that the Caesars benefit is no longer active unfortunately. We have just removed it from our site, and we are actively working on a replacement for this benefit. I’m so sorry for any disappointment. We have been working with Caesars for about a decade so this was not expected, otherwise we wouldn’t have told you just a few days ago that we could get your status corrected

Caesars Founderscard Partnership – What Happens in 2024?

Caesars Rewards resets their membership year on February 1. It seems based on anecdotal evidence that Founderscard members were given Diamond status for this year. Some members reported seeing their accounts downgraded to Gold on February 1 and upgraded a day later back to Diamond. I didn’t notice that, but both my wife and I have our 2024 Diamond status on our accounts.

The big question is whether Caesars will roll back this Founderscard Diamond status for 2024. I think that would be a terrible move, but considering the partnership is done (except for the 10% discount) and we are so early in the year, I could see it happening. Perhaps it would be a good strategy to use the Celebration Dinner sooner rather than later just in case. That said, I want to reiterate that there is no evidence they will downgrade Founderscard members who received the match for this year.

Match from Wyndham Earner Business – Dead?

While theoretically the Founderscard news shouldn’t have anything to do with the other popular path to Diamond, it might. Many people pickup the Wyndham Business Earner card in order to obtain Wyndham Diamond status which then matches to Caesars Diamond. This has been seen by Caesars as an “earned” status and therefore has qualified for the match. It is unclear if that will remain.

More specifically, I have been sent rumors that status with this card will no longer be eligible for the match to Caesars Diamond, however I have not been able to confirm it. I do know MANY people who have been waiting for a Wyndham to Caesars match since February 1 with no luck. These matches have taken awhile in the past so this doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but as of now I haven’t spoken to a single Wyndham Business Earner cardholder who has received their match for 2024.

The Wyndham Earner Business card is the single best and most affordable way to get Caesars Diamond status and if that dies along with Founderscard it will be a huge hit to many. Time will tell if this path dies too, but given the sudden news from Founderscard it wouldn’t be a huge surprise. Caesars saw their competitors tighten up status match opportunities and we all know loyalty programs love to copy each other.

Caesars Founderscard Wyndham Match Ended – Bottom Line

One of the easy ways to obtain Caesars Diamond status has died. With the death of the MGM/Hyatt partnership as well, it is becoming harder and harder to shortcut your way to elite status in Las Vegas without a little effort. That said, a few opportunities do exist (including at Fontainbeleau) so there is always a game to be played.

  1. I’ve been trying to Status Match WR Diamond to CR Diamond online the last few days and I keep getting this Error Message:

“We’re sorry, something went wrong. Please try again later.”

I chatted with a Rep and they said they will send in a manual request but I’m not hopeful.

  2. Unsuccessful match attempt Wyndham Diamond to Caesar’s Diamond, though the opposite worked on Jan 1. Wyndham status originally obtained via caesars status in 2023. Submitted on Feb 1 and followed up with Wyndham rep today and was told that since original status was earned via a match, it cannot be renewed

  3. Successful Data Point: Status match from WR Diamond to CR Diamond was successful! Originally submitted on 2.01.2024, followed up by sending an in-app / web email to CR on 2.15.2024, and noticed the CR Diamond Status today 2.21.2024. The original WR Diamond was obtained via the Wyndham Rewards Earner Business credit card.

  4. Wyndham match went through this weekend, I had submitted for it to start the month so just seems like Caesars being slow again.

  5. My match from Wyndham Business Earner credit card to upgrade to Caesar Diamond status just posted. This status match still works!!

  6. Wyndham Bus. Earner holder, submitted status match 2/12 both online and Android app. No update as of 2/17.

After submitting the status match I stumbled upon the fine print below my point total and surprised to discover my 70K+ Caesars Reward points were set to expire in a couple days (2/14) due to 6mo of inactivity. I bought a Caesars gift card, tried signing up for their FB slots game, added $10 in tokens hopning to trigger point activity in effort to push back their expiration date. Upon reading more fine print I learned it takes 5-7days for points earned from surveys, gift catalog, 1.800Flower purchases, FB Slots coins, etc to post to Caesars award account.
As a last resort, I chose 32.to book 2 nights at Nobu in June.

Does anybody know what happens to the points I used to book Nubu if i cancel or edit my itinerary? Also, assuming my Diamond match goes through, would I get credited for the resort fees I’m was charged being a Gold member? I’d much rather use points at restaurants.

  7. I spoke with Wyndham customer service and they said the status match is currently broken and should be fixed at the end of the month.

  8. After three rejections over two years finally approved last week for the Barclays Wyndham Biz card. Damn. Looks like that ( cruise ) ship has sailed.

  9. As a longtime Caesar’s Diamond Plus or Diamond Elite member (varies by year and never enough for Seven Star) I am glad the matches are dead. Caesars wants gamblers not leeches. Just gamble enough like me and you get status – otherwise you don’t deserve it.

  10. I am so annoyed. I’m sitting in my Harrah’s Las Vegas hotel room as I type this. I go home in 2 days and still no Diamond Match I re-applied for on 2/1/24. It’ s non-sensical for us longtime Wyndham Business cardholders to have this more than 2 week time period without status every year. (I came to Vegas for a convention…I wouldn’t have picked this week myself.) What’s worse is I transferred 20,000 Wyndham points to Caesar’s and now the Wyndham website shows all of my 72,000 remaining points expiring next year! Before the transfer, a small number of points were expiring in 2026.

  11. I’m still waiting for upgrade from Wyndham earner and sent a message to Caesars yesterday since I have a Caesars stay this weekend. They said they would reach out to Wyndham to confirm my status. Haven’t been upgraded. But seemed like a good sign.

  12. Earlier this month I applied for the match from Wyndham Earner Business card to Caesars Diamond and then a few days later submitted a request through the Caesars app and my status has been upgraded to Diamond already.
