Chase Ink+ Office Stores 5x Earning
An email blast has OG miles and points people running for the hills! Legacy Chase Ink+ cardholders received an email today that could spell bad news for the card’s earning potential. However, when logged into your account the card info still shows the old earning set up. Is this an error, or a sign of things to come? Would that change the Chase Ink Cash earning structure too? So many questions when it comes to Chase Ink+ office stores 5x earning.
What Is The Chase Ink+ Card?
The Ink+ is a card that went away a decade or so ago, and is no longer available to sign up for or product change into. The card has a $95 annual fee and is essentially the bigger sibling to the Chase Ink Cash. You get double the 5x earning cap with the Ink+ versus the Ink Cash ($50K vs $25K), and the Ultimate Rewards points earned are fully transferrable. That justifies paying the annual fee for many.
The Email That Started It All
Legacy Chase Ink+ cardholders received a harrowing email this morning. It was first noticed by Jeff in the MTM Facebook Group. At this time, this is just for Ink+ cardholders.

From this email it looks like the office supply 5x earning has been replaced by shipping. This would be a huge change to the card for many people. It wasn’t really announced anywhere that I can see, which makes it all the more confusing. There is hope that this is just an error that was sent out by Chase. We have reached out for comment and will update when we hear back.
Why This May Be A Red Herring
The fact that the 5x earning categories have not been updated on the Chase Ink+ page, when logged into your account, gives me hope that this is just a mistake in the email. You would think that Chase would need to update it there too. You would also hope that they would give some warning of when the benefit would end etc. That is especially true for people that recently paid the annual fee.

So far there has been no email for Chase Ink Cash cardholders. Ink Cash cardholders are also seeing the proper 5x earning when logged into their accounts.
Chase Ink+ Office Stores 5x Earning: Final Thoughts
At this point I am leaning towards this being a rogue email / mistake. It wouldn’t be surprising if they just copy and pasted something from the Ink Preferred etc. I would think that Chase would give some sort of timeframe for a major change like this. I would also expect to see the Ink Cash follow in lockstep with the Chase Ink+ office stores 5x earning set up if something was changing.
We will let you know if we hear something more from Chase. Hopefully a corrected email goes out from them to all affected cardholders at some point soon. Fingers crossed on that at least. Otherwise the Ink+ is a worthless card for many, and the fear of Ink Cash changes being next would begin to form in a major way.
