100,000 Mile Offer Possibly Ending Tomorrow

I don’t usually report on rumors, but I will make an exception because this deal is so good. Ariana at Frugal Travel Guy has just posted that the Citi AA Executive 100,000 mile offer may be expiring tomorrow. (It reportedly will be lowered to 50,000 miles.) Apparently this information comes third hand from someone in an Admiral’s Club, but I thought it worth mentioning.

There are two reasons that this card is so good. First off, it comes with a $200 statement credit that offsets part of the $450 annual fee and it also includes Admiral’s Club access. Essentially, you are getting free lounge access and 100,000 miles for $250. That is a great deal.

I personally have two of the cards (Just applied for a third since I was due anyway) and I wrote about my experience applying for my first card a few months ago. Many people around the points and blogs world have four or five of these card. It is that good of a deal in my opinion.

  1. Thanks for the alternate application location. I just applied (will be my second card) and was approved in seconds. The $450 fee is a hefty one, especially if they don’t give the $200 credit as before (if they do, will be a good sign that the miles offer is also valid!). Will keep my fingers crossed and follow up here once I do/don’t get the miles!

    • Thanks. Sounds like there’s no way to know if the 100k offer still stands. A YMMV situation. I understand the risk, but you still feel pretty good they’ll honor it? When you last applied (a few days ago?) did you get your approval notice right away? How long then does it take to confirm that you got the 100k miles? As always, thanks!!

  2. Do you feel pretty good that this deal (100k miles) is still available? Any way to know for sure? Have a link you’d like me to use?

  3. Yup, just applied for my fourth, and a third for the wife. Might be this thing ends tomorrow or it might not. But if its 8 days since your last Citi application and 65 days since your 2nd to last Citi application then you might want to go for another one if you can handle the spend.
