Citi is Sending Out New ThankYou Point Spend Offers
Citibank is no stranger to sending out spending offers on their cards, especially for sock drawer cards. They even decided to send out some of the worst authorized user offers known to man kind not too long ago.
My wife’s Citi ThankYou Preferred card recently got a decent offer through the snail mail. The offer is not as good as the ones Citi was sending out at the end of last year but it is something.
Details on the Offer
The details for the ThankYou Premier offer are as follows:
- Earn 5 ThankYou points per dollar in the following categories
- Clothing Stores
- Computer & Electronics Store
- Department Stores
- Toy Stores
- She can earn up to 2,500 points
- She must register by 2/28/18
- The offer lasts until 3/31/18
This is a pretty good offer because of the electronics store category. I would assume Best Buy falls into that category. Some Best Buy locations sell Visa gift cards which makes this a quick and easy way to rack up 2,500 ThankYou points, worth $31.25, for a minimal cost.
Citibank usually sends out offers for multiple cards at the same time. If you received an offer for this card or any others let us know in the comments section and I will add it in.
If you received an offer you input your activation code HERE.
Conclusion
This is a pretty decent spending offer although it is limited in the amount of points you can rack up. It is good to see them trying to entice current cardmembers. Especially for a no annual fee credit card.
Do you think this is a good offer? How would you utilize it? Let me know in the comments as well as let me know if you got a spending offer on any other Citi cards.

Where can I find a list of the approved “Department Stores”?
There may be a link in the email if you received the offer via that route.
Your title stated “offers,” as in plural. Yet, you only mentioned the one offer for your wife’s Preferred card. Were there any other new offers?
Aaron in the past they have always sent out offers for a lot of their cards at the same time so I was hoping to get some data points from readers to add to the list.

To earn 2500 points, you would have to buy 3 X $200 VGCs at $6.95 per card = $20.85. So you net $10. Meh.
True – not the greatest. I am hoping that they offer some more gift card deals like they have the last few weeks. Where I could get the points and make a little bit of profit.
so, if you buy gift cards at best buy they give you points under the beat buy rewardas program? When I bought the gas cards for the Chase Pay promo recently, I didn’t sign up for the BB rewards because the guy at the register told me I would not get points (????)
Yes you do – even best buy gift cards. But you don’t get points when you pay with best buy gift cards.
