Which Credit Cards Offer Rideshare Benefits With Uber And Lyft?

Looking for credit cards that offer free rides, discounts, and perks on rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft? Several cards offer perks in various forms. Today, we’re covering which cards offer which perks, how to use them, and important details you need to know.

Credit Cards With Uber And Lyft Benefits

In our bonus categories list, you can see which cards will earn the most points when paying for rides with a rideshare app. That’s not what we are covering here. If you want perks like free or discounted rides, that’s what we’re covering today. Let’s dig in.

Chase Sapphire Reserve

Through March 2022, you can receive complimentary Lyft Pink membership for at least a year. This gives you priority pricing, priority airport pickups, more generous cancelation policies, and more. You also can get a 15% discount on eligible rides. Lyft Pink membership costs $19.99 per month without this free membership perk. Additionally, you can use your annual “$300 in travel credits” perk from these credit cards on rides with Uber or Lyft, since these rides code as travel.

The Platinum Card from American Express

Receive $15 per month (but $35 in December) in Uber Cash, added to your Uber account if you store this card as a payment method in your account. In addition to the free rides you can get with this, you also get Uber VIP status, which can provide better rides and services. Remember that this Uber Cash will come in US Dollars, which means you can’t use it in other countries (unless their currency is USD).

American Express Gold Card

Receive $10 monthly Uber Cash credit. Store the card as a payment method in your account, and the credits will be added automatically each month.

World & World Elite Mastercards

Take three Lyft rides per month and use your card to pay for the rides. After this, you’ll receive $5 in Lyft credit in your account. Details about this offer are here. Here are some examples of eligible cards:

  • World Elite Mastercards
    • Brex Card

A Note About The Uber Card

Yes, you can earn Uber credits from this card. You earn 3% back as Uber Cash for all spending in travel categories, plus 5% back on Uber rides. That means you could get $5 in Uber Cash after $100 worth of Uber rides in a month. If all you want is free rides, this could be a good card for you. However, if you’re looking for credit cards that offer perks with Uber or Lyft AND something more, this card likely isn’t a keeper.

Final Thoughts

Any comparison of credit cards with perks for Uber and Lyft should highlight what they offer, sure. Before applying for any of these cards, also understand the limitations. Do they offer anything beyond these perks? Does the card you’re considering offer benefits which justify the annual fee (if any) and the credit inquiry during the application process? Moreover, examine whether you could accomplish the same with other cards that offer a fuller set of benefits.

Several credit cards offer perks with Lyft and/or Uber. Which one do you think has the best benefit?
