Delta Flights Booked With Virgin Atlantic Miles Vanish From App
Update: Reader Joey in the comments and other readers have confirmed that their flights have reappeared on Delta’s site.
I have several data points of a concerning issue with Delta flights booked with Virgin Atlantic miles. Several friends and readers have contacted me about some of these flights simply vanishing from their upcoming flights on Delta’s app and website when logged into their account. They are getting errors when they try to add them as well. If anyone else is experiencing the same thing or has more info to add please share it in the comments section.
Update: My buddy with the flight on Sunday was able to get in touch with Delta. They said it is showing on their end and it should still be good to go. So it appears to be some sort of glitch on Delta’s end.
Details
I have four different data points of this happening in the last day or two. People have noticed that their upcoming flights have completely vanished from their upcoming travel section when logged into their Delta account. The common denominator is that the flights were booked with Virgin Atlantic miles. And they have been unable to add the flights back into their Delta accounts. It populates an error message.
There is also another common instance between all of the data points, they are for only international flights so far. One of the data points also has domestic travel on Delta still showing on their account that they also booked with Virgin Atlantic miles.
One of the people reached out to Virgin and was told it is because Delta was eliminating flights. Which would make sense except for the fact that many of the flights are still bookable on Delta’s website. This includes a flight on Sunday that a buddy had booked home on Delta from Amsterdam after spending a week visiting family.
Final Thoughts
I don’t know if this is just a glitch, Virgin has been having issues with IT recently, or if it is something more. The fact that Virgin Atlantic is still showing the booking but Delta has dropped it is confusing. Especially when some of the flights are still for sale on Delta’s website. Could this be a payment issue between to two partners? But why would only international flights have issues, at least for now.
If anyone has some information on the subject that they can share that would be greatly appreciated. Be sure to check your accounts and share your data points below. Has your international bookings on Delta vanished too?

Just FYI I was able to see all 3 roundtrip award flights on Delta website (2 domestic and 1 international) this morning. I hope all of you are able to see them now!
Nice – thanks for the update Joey
I also experienced the same thing, and Delta customer service person said it looks fine on their end I should be check in fine.
Called Delta. They said that the ticket is “open” (I honestly have no idea what that means). The flight that we are scheduled for is still operational and we have seats on the flight. The agent suggested that I confirm with VS (which it is online, so I’m not worried about).
My DL CUN to DTW flight in December 2020 is no longer showing that I booked using “possibly soon-to-be worthless” Virgin Atlantic miles. Funny enough I got an iPhone alert that DL processed a complimentary comfort+ upgrade on this flight the other day (Plat Medallion here) but then the reservation disappeared when I went in the DL app to view
Something is going on. I have upcoming flight with delta. Booked trough delta. I can see the flight under KLM booking code but dissapeared from Delta app after the date change. Klm says they see it in their system and even in Delta system but they do not know why it is not showing up. You have no way to contact the US delta from Europe. In Europe the Delta is using KLm system and as it seem the changes are sent to the US. Its a mess.
I have a domestic flight to DEN Monday booked with Virgin points and it is showing up as one of my 4 trips booked with DL this year, but when I try to access the booking on my laptop I get an error message. The flights are showing up on Virgin’s site. None of my trips are showing up in the DL app. I called DL and the agent referred me back to VS but I was not really ready to spend hours on hold so I am hoping it gets resolved soon.
Two DL operated VS-booked flights are not showing in my app. They still show on the website but when I click I get an error message. Still show as ‘valid’ on VS.com
Wow mine is gone as well. I had 3 flights booked on DL using VS miles; two completely domestic and one international. I get errors on all 3 flights (flights are in Aug-Oct).
I have a flight to SAN on DL in November booked with VS points and I do have the ability to access that reservation online with my laptop.
Just got an email from DL that my flight has been rescheduled (it was a nonstop domestic flight but now changed to have a connection in DTW.) I guess ticket is still valid. Ticket is for August so plenty of time. I’ll give it another week before contacting VS or DL.
Anybody try contacting Delta?
Mine is gone, too. Flights rt MSP/AMS end of July; showing on Virgin’s site.
Yes! Had a flight booked for JUNE 25, AMS-JFK. Booked through Virgin Atlantic for Delta One. When I looked on Virgin Atlantic site, flight shows scheduled at 10:15am. On Delta site, Delta 47 was scheduled at 2:45pm. When I finally got ahold of Virgin Atlantic yesterday by phone to cancel our flight, (especially since I couldn’t see it in my reservations on delta), she said the flight was cancelled completely and refunded my points and taxes.
Had this happen with 2 bookings.
1 in April Sea-Ams and 1 in May Dub-Sea
Mine have vanished. D1 reservation booked with VS miles PKX-SEA in Nov. 2020 vanished and trying to retrieve the trip returns an error…..not too hopeful about the flight being operated and me being able to fly in the first place though.
