Dollar General Amex Offer

Yesterday I wrote in detail about the new Amex Offer for Dollar General and Dollar General Market. In short, you can receive a $5 credit for a $25 purchase. That is pretty good considering Dollar General stores sell a decent variety of gift cards.

If you didn’t read yesterday’s post then I highly suggest clicking over since I included photos of all of the gift cards available at my local Dollar General. There are quite a few, so you shouldn’t be worried about finding something that you like.

Just a sample of what is available.

As of the time the offer was released yesterday, it was only available via Facebook and the American Express website. Thankfully that changed and they have now released a Twitter hashtag. As I was eating lunch, I received confirmation emails on all of my Twitter accounts. That is because I spent some time setting up SyncAssist for moments such as this.

How to Register

To register simply tweet #AmexDollarGen from your linked Twitter account. Simple and easy. You can find the full terms for the Twitter version of this offer here if you are interested. Happy syncing and happy gift card shopping!

  1. Just saw this on fb amex offers: Spend $40 or more, get $10 back

Get a one-time $10 statement credit by using your enrolled Card to make a single purchase of $40 or more in-store at Orchard Supply Hardware by 6/30/2015. Do they sell GC I wonder??

Feel free to remove if duplicate. 🙂

  2. If you try to add this offer to multiple AMEX cards you may find that the system has been updated to block the offer after you have added the first card. It is instantaneous: multiple browsers, etc don’t work. However, you are still able to add one on the AMEX page after you log in plus add one on Twitter, Facebook etc.

I recommend that you see what happens to you with an “unimportant” offer before another good one like the Smart & Final and Sam’s Club comes along. You might need to shift some cards offer to synched outlets. But, if this is a permanent change, the opportunity to add offers to numerous AMEX cards is now diminished. And you can point the finger at the person who recently called AMEX to complain when not receiving the statement credit on a 2nd card on the offer page. He/she made such a big stink that AMEX followed up and adapted quickly.

    • I just enrolled in the Dollar General offer this morning to all of my Amex credit cards buy opening one account in one tab on Google Chrome and clicked enrollment for each account. Not sure why I could not do it.

    • Sorry for the typo.
