Finding Hotel Email Address
When you travel enough, eventually you will need to get in contact with a hotel ahead of time. Maybe you’ll want them to notate a special occasion or you’ll want to ask about upgrade options. Either way, sometimes it can be hard to find an email address. Sure, you could call, but that takes time and what fun is calling anyway?
Some hotel chains, notably IHG, make it super easy to find the email address for a property you are visiting. For example, here is the Crowne Plaza Changi. Pretty much every IHG hotel has an email address in the same place on their page. Just below the name and phone number.
Getting a Hyatt’s Email
But other chains such as Hyatt don’t have an email address most of the time. With some chains I try to find the hotel’s local social media accounts and contact them through that, but with Hyatt it is super easy to find a property’s contact email. All you need to do is tweet @HyattConcierge.
They have a master list of emails for all of the properties and will normally be able to provide you with the person you want to speak with in order to make arrangements. For example today we are headed to the Hyatt Ziva Puerto Vallarta for four days. The first two days are booked with free night certificates under my wife’s non-Diamond account. The next two days are booked using a Diamond Suite Upgrade from my account.
After contacting @HyattConcierge, I emailed the property and was able to confirm that our reservations are properly linked and that we will be able to have the suite for the entire stay. One less thing to worry about! Of course you can’t have everything. I asked if we could get upgraded to a higher level suite and was told that we would have to pay for it. Oh well, we’ll take the one we have and it was very nice of them to give it to us for the entire stay.
Conclusion
I’m sure this strategy probably works with some of the other major hotel chains, although I haven’t had to try it. I do know that getting in contact with hotels ahead of time can be an effective way to make sure your stay goes off as planned. Do you have any strategies for getting in contact with a property before arrival? Let us know in the comments!

[…] Finding Hotel Email Address: Hyatt, IHG and More (Miles to Memories). […]
Great tip. I just booked an award stay at the Park Hyatt St. Kitts and wanted to get in touch with them but didn’t know how. Appreciate it.
Glad to help! (And I’m jealous.)
I strongly agree with the practice of contacting the hotel manager ahead of time to lock in an upgrade or to hopefully get “more” service. I didn’t do this before I stayed at a RC in Bali and I regret not doing it because I ended up getting inferior service. After writing a long email to the manager after I left, now she has my attention and promises to give me a higher level of service (as they advertise!) the next time I stay.
I contacted the Intercontinental, Cancun manager for our stay from 9/3 thru 9/11. This is our 3rd visit there in the last year using 50% off pts.. Our 1st last September gave us an OF suite and lounge when i bought Ambassador w/ points on check-in. The next was last May/June and we had to pull teeth to get an OF Club room w/ lounge whcih they didn’t have to give us. On that visit i requested the managers biz card. I contacted him to inform that we would be staying on the above dates and that i continue to hold Spire Ambassador status. I asked what type of benefits we could expect. The reply was we would receive a deluxe OF like our last visit w/ lounge. It pays to plan ahead by contacting the hotel and gives you peace-of-mind so there are no issues @ check-in.
