A Fantastic Collection of Gift Card & Other Deals – Analysis Too!

Awesome Sunday Afternoon Deals

There are a number of very good gift card deals that have surfaced today along with a Visa Checkout discount. Let me try to break them down for you.

$100 Lowe’s at Staples for $90

Staples is offering $100 Lowe’s gift cards for $90. This discount is limited to one per checkout. Be careful if you decide to purchase multiples, since Staples has cracked down in the past on multiple orders. This purchase should earn 5X Ultimate Rewards points with Chase Ink.

These cards aren’t really worth reselling and I don’t think you can purchase other gift cards with Lowe’s gift cards. This is still a way to achieve a 10% discount at Lowe’s and earn 5x Ultimate Rewards points. You can of course use Lowe’s mover’s and other coupons as well when paying with gift cards as well.

25% Off with Visa Checkout

Speaking of Staples, they are offering $50 off a $200 or more purchase with Visa Checkout through 7/24/15. Gift cards are excluded, so this won’t stack with the Lowe’s deal, but it still provides a lot of opportunity. This will also work with Staples gift cards, so you don’t need to pay the entire amount with Visa Checkout.

What this means is you can stack discounted Staples gift cards, coupons and then this discount to achieve a decent savings. You can find the terms of the promotion here.

Kroger 20% Off Gift Card Coupons

Kroger (and its subsidiaries) have a number of very good gift card coupons which can be loaded to your loyalty account online. The coupons offer:

• $10 off two eBay gift cards
• $10 off two Sephora gift cards
• 20% off Gap, Gap Options, Banana Republic & Old Navy gift cards

For Sephora and eBay, the minimum gift card amount is $25, meaning your $50 purchase of gift cards will cost $40 giving you a 20% discount. The Gap brands discount applies on any amount, meaning you can scale your spend a little higher.

It is obviously best to use a card that earns a grocery store category bonus when paying. You should also earn 2x fuel points and some people are being targeted for a 4x fuel points offer. To load these coupons go to your account and click “Coupons”. These deals are found under the “Other” category. This direct link may work.

Resale Opportunity

• Several resellers purchase Sephora cards for 80%, meaning you would keep the fuel points and any rewards earned.
• You would be crazy to sell your eBay gift cards. There are a ton of deals for gift cards on eBay that these can be used on.
• The Gap brands cards are tough, because there have been a number of sales on them lately. There is a ton of inventory in the market which has pushed the resale value of the cards down. GiftCardZen is still offering 80% for the cards, but we know they will cancel orders if they feel they have too much inventory.

Conclusion

Overall this is a pretty decent selection of deals for a Sunday afternoon. At the very least, purchasing eBay gift cards for 20% off is a no-brainer. I know I will be heading to my local Smith’s (Kroger) when I get back to Vegas. Have a great night!
