You Could Get a Rebate Check If You Bought Ginger Ale in Last 6 Years

A new class action settlement could make you eligible for a rebate check if you bought any Canada Dry Ginger Ale product over the last few years. The lawsuits were brought by Plaintiffs against Defendants for the marketing and labeling of its Products as “Made from Real Ginger.”

Without admitting any wrongdoing, Keurig Dr Pepper, Inc., and Dr Pepper/Seven Up, Inc., have agreed to change the wording on their packaging and marketing going forward. They have also agreed to pay a settlement of $11.2 million to consumers as part of the deal.

If you purchased any products labeled “Made from Real Ginger” in California between December 28, 2012, and June 26, 2018, or any other state between January 1, 2013, and December 19, 2018, then you could get a rebate.

Here’s how much you can get back:

  • With no receipt, you can claim 40 cents per item for up to $5.20 in cash with no proof
  • If you have your receipts, you can claim 40 cents per item for up to $40 (100 items max) with proof of purchase

You can read more details here and file your claim online.

Conclusion

You can get either up to $5.20 or $40 depending if you still have your receipts, or proof of purchase. This is a popular products and I’m sure many people will qualify since it covers a period of 5-6 years.

  1. This settlement is weird. So plaintiff to the dispute recognized that it was unlikely they could prove that our C.D. was not made with Ginger…. and so they all agreed to this settlement? So is my ginger ale made with ginger, or not? I’m confused. I just bought that brand over others that didn’t claim to be made with “real ginger.” Don’t see anything anywhere that they can’t claim that anymore…. What does the fox, or Dr. Oz say? 🙂
