Hilton HHonors Diamond Status Match Confirmed
Last week I covered Hilton’s new status match which seemed to be in response to Hyatt’s crazy Diamond status match. Before the Thanksgiving holiday a Hilton HHonors representative had posted on Flyertalk to announce the match, but had been very vague with the details.
At the time I asserted that they would probably be matching top-tier elites of other programs to their Diamond tier and mid-tier elites to Gold, but there was no way to know for sure. Well, we now have confirmation that Diamond status will be a part of this match. Here is Hilton’s correspondence with @GrantHawaii on Twitter:
@HiltonHHonors so Hyatt diamond is matched to Hilton Diamond?

@granthawaii We appreciate the inquiry. Yes, you are correct in that HHonors will match Diamond status with this program. Thank you.

Analysis
So the confirmation came from the Conrad Hotels twitter account, but that is definitely an official Hilton account so I am guessing they know what is going on. Now that we have confirmation that Hyatt Diamond is matched to Hilton Diamond, those of you who got matched last week to Hyatt should be able to parlay that into Hilton’s top tier status as well.
As of now there isn’t any confirmation of other statuses, but my guess is they will match the top tier statuses from other programs such as Marriott and SPG to Hilton Diamond as well. Of course, if you want to know for sure simply ask on Twitter like Grant did! You can find directions on how to request a match in my original post. Happy matching!

[…] company’s announcement on Flyertalk didn’t give a lot of details, but Hilton eventually confirmed via Twitter that they would be matching some people to their Diamond […]
That’s great news.
I’ll have to spend 40k+ on the credit card to get diamond. lol. Maybe next year
I can confirm that they matched my IHG Spire status to Hilton Diamond. Seeing as how I got in on Hyatt early and they didn’t get back to me and then offered me Platinum (which I already have), I’m thrilled with Hilton and will be throwing then some business.
