Hilton Summer Promotion: Earn 2X-3X More Points

It is that time of year, the time for summer hotel promos to roll out.  Hilton’s promos are usually pretty predicable and that is a reason they are often overlooked.  This one is no different but it can offer a lot of value in certain circumstances. And remember to always sign up for these promotions because you just never know if you will use it so you don’t wanna miss out.

Offer Details

  • Registered Hilton Honors members will earn Double Points per stay during the Promotion Period for stays up to two nights. “Double Points” means members will receive Bonus Points equal to the number of Base Points earned during a stay.
  • Registered Hilton Honors members will earn Triple Points per stay during the Promotion Period for stays of three nights or more. “Triple Points” means members will receive Bonus Points equal to twice the number of Base Points earned during a stay.
  • There is no limit to the total amount of Bonus Points that may be earned during the Promotion Period with this offer. However, there are restrictions on the amount of Base Points that can be earned on a single stay at certain brands.

Breaking Down The Value

Hilton points are not worth a ton, usually in the $0.0045 range, but they can be earned in bunches.  Never more so than with these promos.  If you are an Aspire card holder, the best perks card out there, then this promo should catch your attention.

Since you already have Diamond status you could earn 54 points per dollar on stays of 3 or more nights (44 points on stays of 1-2 nights).  That is a return of almost 25% on paid stays of three nights or more.

Even Hilton Surpass cardholders can earn 50 points per dollar on 3 night stays or more with their automatic Gold status. You would still earn 40 points per dollar on 1 or 2 night stays.  That is a return 22.5% on 3 night+ stays and 18% on one or two night stays.

Final Thoughts

While not sexy this promo can add up to big savings on your trip.  Anytime you can get up 25% back on a cash stay you are doing well.  Don’t forget to check travel portals before booking for even more savings.

Will this offer change your travel this summer at all? Will you switch a points booking to cash to rack up the points?
