If you are like me and do a lot of shopping on Amazon that can cause a problem sometimes. Especially if you took advantage of the second Prime Day, Early Prime, Prime 2.0 or whatever that money grab was last week. Normally, around the holidays Amazon stops saying what is being delivered with Alexa notifications but if you plan ahead with your holiday, or birthday, shopping then Amazon can completely ruin your surprise. It has happened to me with my very curious son. He can’t wait to clear that yellow Alexa notification when he sees it. Luckily, he is still pretty gullible so I can brush off when he is alerted to a gift being delivered. I brush it off as something I am reselling or say it is a gift for my nephew etc. This year I decided to stop all of that noise and finally gift block Amazon. Here is how to turn off Alexa shipping notifications so Amazon doesn’t ruin your gifting surprises.
Turn Of Amazon Alexa Delivery Notifications
It is a pretty simple process, and I am annoyed I didn’t take the 2 minutes to fix it years ago. I’ll go through the step by step process and then show you a quick video of me doing it.
Open Up Your Alexa App
You need to do all of this through your Alexa app so the first thing you need to do is get out your phone and open the app.
Select More In The App
Next you need to select the More option in the lower right corner of your app.
Select Settings
After you open up the More section you need to hit the Settings option.
Notifications
Scroll down to the middle of the Settings section and select Notifications.
Amazon Shopping
Once inside Notifications you want to select Amazon Shopping
Delivery Notifications
One section from the top is labeled Delivery Notifications. Here you can toggle your Alexa notifications when a package is out for delivery or delivered.

This shows the difference between people with families or kids and being an Old like me. I don’t even have an Alexa anything! I started reading wondering what this was even about and it is a thing I did not know was a thing.
Good write up though and I can see where for people that don’t live alone, this is great! I just had to laugh at how out of the loop I am on some stuff, I guess!
