Hyatt Introduces Alcohol-Free Beverage Program
If you’re like me, you’ll be happy to know that Hyatt now has an alcohol-free beverage program at several hotels. This program is new and is growing, and its creation makes a lot of sense. Here are the details.
Where and Why This Started
Numerous Americans said they want to drink less alcohol and would like options for non-alcoholic beverages when traveling. This is according to data from Hyatt’s own research when growing this program, but this data exists elsewhere, also.
Thus, this alcohol-free beverage program builds on what started at a Hyatt Joie de Vivre property in Baltimore. Anna Welker, the manager of the Topside bar at Revival Baltimore, wanted to provide options for those who don’t drink alcohol and ran a successful program in January of 2020.
Hyatt did some research into this and decided to expand it into the “Zero Proof, Zero Judgment” program in August 2021. It ran at select hotels and was massively popular. So popular, in fact, that Hyatt is expanding this program and its options for non-alcohol beverages.
Current Hotels Participating
The following Hyatt properties are currently participating in the non-alcoholic beverage program:
- Alila: Alila Napa Valley (Napa Valley, California) and Ventana Big Sur (Big Sur, California)
- Andaz: Andaz San Diego (San Diego, California)
- Destination Hotels: The Seabird Resort (Oceanside, California)
- Hyatt Centric: Hyatt Centric Atlanta Midtown (Atlanta, Georgia), Hyatt Centric Beale Street Memphis (Memphis, Tennessee), and Hyatt Centric Times Square New York (New York)
- Joie de Vivre: Revival Baltimore (Baltimore, Maryland) and Mission Pacific (San Diego, California)
- Thompson Hotels: Thompson Dallas (Dallas, Texas), Thompson San Antonio (San Antonio, Texas) and Thompson Savannah (Savannah, Georgia)
- Unbound Collection: Chicago Athletic Association (Chicago), Hotel Kansas City (Missouri), and The Confidante Miami Beach (Miami, Florida)
This list is likely to increase, but for now it’s only at hotels in the contiguous U.S.
What’s Included?
Each hotel will have different offerings. However, the idea is to offer non-alcoholic beverages that are interesting and appealing. Mocktails will provide options beyond just “Coke or water?” as options for non-drinkers.
It’s also important to note that Hyatt’s program wanting to increase options for non-alcoholic beverages doesn’t mean they’re taking away alcohol. The goal is to provide more options, hoping to offer something for everyone.
Final Thoughts
I, for one, am absolutely pumped about this. My wife and I don’t drink alcohol. When we get a “free drink” ticket at hotels, the bar typically provides us “you can have Coke or bottled water” as our only options. We usually wind up giving these drink tickets away or treating others. Having more options will be fantastic.

This is a great idea. Hope other hotels do it, too. My husband and I don’t drink either and it would be nice to have more options, especially the mocktails and other fun drinks.
Agreed, having more drink options is nice. There are some tasty/fun mocktails available that these Hyatts will hopefully start serving.
two typos: ” the idea is to off non-alcoholic beverages that are interesting and appealing. Mocktails will provide optiosn beyond just” Off should be “offer” and optiosn should be “options.”
Who cares harv
He was probably drinking when he typed it.
Thanks.
Maybe they could put little bottles of water and soda in small refrigerators and install them in each room and offer free beverages.
