Increased Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card Offers, Best We Have Ever Seen?
It is true, 2021 has been the year of the massive credit card welcome offer. There are so many 100K offers that we had to make a list of them. The Chase Sapphire Preferred and Amex Platinum are at all time highs. Even under the radar cards like the Chase British Airways Visa card have better than ever offers. It appears that the Bonvoy program didn’t want to be left in the dust. There are some new increased Marriott Bonvoy credit card offers that are pretty great, some amazing. Let’s take a look at the details.
These Offers Have Ended
Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card
I believe the best offer we have seen on this card is for 125,000 points and a $200 restaurant statement credit offer. This offer is substantially better in my opinion and is one that has me actually considering grabbing the card. Even though I thought I never would. Fingers crossed I am not still under Amex pop-up purgatory.
- 150,000 points and one Free Night Award worth 85,000 points (Category eight standard rate).
- To qualify, new Card Members will need to charge at least $5,000 in purchases on their new Marriott Bonvoy Brilliant American Express Card in the first three months.
- In addition to this limited time offer, annually Card Members receive: one Free Night Award every year after the Card Member’s account anniversary which can be used for one night (redemption level at or under 50,000 Marriott Bonvoy points) at a participating hotel, 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year towards the next level of Marriott Bonvoy Elite status, and $300 in statement credits each year of Card Membership for eligible purchases at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy.
- For each dollar of eligible purchases, Card Members can earn: 6X points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy, 3X points at U.S. restaurants and on flights booked directly with airlines, and 2X points on all other eligible purchases.
- $450 annual fee.
Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card
Some people may have preferred the limited time 5 – 50,000 point free night certificates offer that was around last year. That offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Boundless had the maximum value of 250,000 points but others prefer to not be trapped by certificates and prefer points. This offer has a little bit of both.
- 125,000 points and one Free Night Award worth up to 50,000 points (Category six standard, Category seven off-peak rates)
- To qualify, new cardholders will need to charge at least $5,000 in purchases on their new Marriott Bonvoy Boundless Card in the first three months.
- In addition to this limited time offer, annually cardholders receive: 15 Elite Night Credits per calendar year and automatic Silver Elite Status each account anniversary year, a path to Gold Elite Status when cardholders spend $35,000 on purchases each account year, and a Free Night Award every year after the cardholders account anniversary, valid for a one-night hotel stay at a property with a redemption level up to 35,000 points.
- For each dollar of eligible purchases, cardholders can earn: 6X points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy and 2X points on all other eligible purchases.
- $95 annual fee.
Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card
The Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card is the no fee card option. If you are anti fees then look no further but most would be better off grabbing the Boundless instead.
- 60,000 points
- To qualify, new cardholders will need to charge at least $2,000 in purchases on their new Marriott Bonvoy Bold Card in the first three months.
- In addition to this limited time offer, cardholders receive 15 Elite Night Credits per calendar year, qualifying you for Silver Elite Status.
- For each dollar of eligible purchases, cardholders can earn: 3X points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy, 2X points for travel purchases, and 1X points on all other eligible purchases.
- No annual fee.
Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card
This offer may be my favorite of the bunch. You are getting 125,000 points and TWO free night certificates. All for a reasonable $125 annual fee. Unfortunately, many of us may not be eligible because we had a SPG business card in the past (more on that later).
- 125,000 points and two Free Night Awards worth 50,000 points each (Category six standard, Category seven off-peak rates and not stackable).
- To qualify, new Card Members will need to charge at least $5,000 in purchases on their new Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card in the first three months.
- In addition to this limited time offer, Card Members annually receive: a Free Night Award after the Card Member’s account anniversary and can earn another Free Night Award after the Card Member spends $60,000 in purchases on their Card in a calendar year, receive 15 Elite Night Credits each calendar year towards the next level of Marriott Bonvoy Elite status, and complimentary Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status.
- For each dollar of eligible purchases, Card Members can earn: 6X points at hotels participating in Marriott Bonvoy, 4X points at U.S. restaurants, gas stations, on wireless telephone services purchased directly from U.S. service providers, and on all U.S. purchases for shipping, and 2X points on all other eligible purchases.
- $125 annual fee.
These Increased Marriott Bonvoy Credit Card Offers Are Great, But Are You Eligible?
The Marriott credit eligibility rules are some of the toughest to navigate out there. Greg over at Frequent Miler has done a good job of explaining the hoops you need to jump through. So as to not invent the wheel check out his article before you apply for any cards if you are worried about eligibility.
Final Thoughts
The massive offers continue to roll in and I am loving every minute of it. These offers did not disappoint for the most part. While the Boundless and Bold cards are decent offers the Brilliant and Bonvoy Business cards are the ones I find most intriguing. Being able to get increased welcome offers plus a free night or two is a win-win in my book.

I’ll def apply for the Business version. Never had the SPG business.
When you say the award nights aren’t stackable, what does that mean? Can’t use for same day or two days in a row?
Can def use them consecutively but can’t stack them such as thinking 2 50k = 100k award night. They also can’t be topped up with points which I find irritating.
Correct – have to be used for the point levels they are at.
steeper spending levels. Not just $3,000…but $5,000. Is this a trend?
I think when offers increase they bump up the spending these days
$5,000 is a lot for the average person/family. Does the (above) average person/family have $1,700+ in C/C expenses every month? No…unless you are paying mortgage/hoa/prop tax/auto fees. Which means using Plastiq, etc…quite often.
Groceries, gas, entertainment won’t meet that for vast majority of families. Especially in light of having other cards.
For business cards, ok.
I think the average family of 4 spends around $1,500 – $2,000 a month on their credit card. Utilities, car insurance, food, dining, clothes, gas, entertainment etc. It adds up quickly.
