Las Vegas Hilton Hotels & How To Stay In Vegas For Free!

The sheer volume of new Las Vegas Hilton properties opening is quite astounding.  For points and miles fans, this means many new opportunities – and a lot more homework.  Since Hilton Honors is my favorite hotel loyalty program, it’s a great time to look at new opportunities for points redemptions at these hotels.  With Amex relaxing their credit card limit, why not look and see how current card welcome offers can help out, as well?  Today, I’ll run through the new Las Vegas Hilton properties and just how much you “free” you can obtain with Hilton points from Amex cards.  But first, let’s reset on the current Hilton Amex card welcome offers.

Finding the Best Point Rates

Since many are interested in checking out the new properties soon after the 25 June Resorts World opening, I’m focusing on those on the Las Vegas strip in July.  Of course, other options exist which are slightly off the strip or not attached to a casino.  All of my searches were for two adults per room.  Below are the cheapest points rates in July for each property, including the earliest night I found availability at that rate.  With each property, I found multiple other nights available at that same low points rate throughout the month.  Ensure to tailor your own searches and analysis based on your situation.

Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas Pool Area
  • Hilton Grand Vacations at the Flamingo:  88k points for one free night (6 Jul)
  • Elara by Hilton Grand Vacations – Center Strip:  69k points for one free night (5 Jul)
  • Waldorf Astoria Las Vegas:  71k points (11 Jul)
  • Tropicana Las Vegas – a DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel:  19k points (6 Jul)
  • Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, Curio Collection by Hilton:  34k points (1 Jul)
Resorts World:
  • Conrad Las Vegas at Resorts World:  61k points (6 Jul)
  • Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts:  87k points (6 Jul)
  • Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World:  49k points (6 Jul)

For those who want a cheaper option for an extended stay, consider Hilton Grand Vacations on the Las Vegas Strip for 36k points per night with wide July availability. It is right next door to Resorts World.

What Each Amex Card Welcome Offer Enables

Let’s now look at what the points from each Amex card welcome offer provide in terms of Las Vegas Hilton free nights.  I’ll conservatively include the baseline 3x Hilton Honors points each card earns for everyday spend in addition to the welcome offer bonus points.

Las Vegas Hilton Hotels – Conclusion

While Amex welcome offers have decreased a bit recently, cardholders can still get plenty of free nights across Hilton lines. This shows you what one single card welcome offer could get you into Vegas, up to a week at some properties!

With all of these new properties opening in Vegas you have a ton of options available to you as well.  I know I’m glad to have more hotel points redemption options in Vegas, especially with my favorite hotel currency.  As always, check the cash rates prior to redeeming and decide whether points or cash rates are the best way to book for your situation.  Keep in mind that resort fees are waived for stays booked entirely with Hilton Honors points!

Are you planning to redeem points for any of the Las Vegas Hilton properties soon?  If so, which one(s)?

  1. Can I get the sign up bonus points from EACH card when I apply and get a hilton american express and also a Hilton BUSINESS American Express card? In other words, I already applied for and received a regular Hilton amex card and received 100k bonus points, will imget another 150000 bonus points if I apply and receive a Hilton business amex card?

  2. I’ve used the time share presentation for many 3 night comps at the Trump . Decent value there also .

  3. Got many Hilton points. Which of these is closest to Planet Hollywood because that is usually our place to stay when we go.

    • Tim, Elara is right next door. Connects to the Miracle Mile. Nice property, we’ve done the timeshare deal there a few times.

      • Yup – Elara is a pretty nice property. Especially if you splurge for the suite with the projection TV.
