  1. Another really enjoyable podcast and I found the Amex card discussion helpful. Seems like an Amex $15k free night cert earned this year Has an extended expiration date, which is great. But am I correct in thinking a World of Hyatt $15k free night cert earned this year must be used (stay completed) 12 months from date of issue? I’m about $500 away on the WoH $15k cert and stopped because I don’t want to earn it yet (anniversary date oct). Seems logical (because we have plenty of certs right now) but also sort of crazy. Do you guys ever adjust your spending to trigger a cert at a specific time? Is there a better way to think about earning WoH certs? Thanks.

    • Thanks for listening Gus. I think that makes a lot of sense to hold off the spend in order to maximize the time it is available (if no immediate plans to use it). In the past I always earned them as quickly as I could because I would use them pretty much right away but now I do think we need to game plan it a little more.
