New “Refer-A-Friend” Offer for American Express Card Members
Today American Express is introducing a limited-time offer that gives eligible card members. They have the chance to earn even more rewards after they refer a friend and the friend is approved and gets a new card.
With this new referral offer you can earn an extra 10X Rewards or 10% cash back per dollar spent at restaurants worldwide (for 3 months on up to $25,000). The offer is only available until May 22, 2024.
After making an eligible referral with this offer, restaurant goers could earn rewards when trying a new restaurant or visiting a favorite neighborhood spot:
For example, eligible American Express Gold® Card Members who usually earn 4X Rewards at restaurants could earn 14X Rewards at restaurants worldwide (4X on restaurant purchases + 10X Membership Rewards® Points). Blue Cash Preferred® Card Members who typically earn 1% cash back on eligible purchases could earn 11% cash back in statement credits at restaurants (1% cash back on all eligible purchases + 10% cash back at restaurants).
The bonus points for dining are in addition to the referral bonus that you currently earn for referring people to apply for an American Express credit card. That bonus currently varies between 10,000 and 25,000 points.
