Day 242 – Tuesday December 18, 2007 – Dunedin, New Zealand
While arriving in Dunedin on Monday evening we could see that it was a special place. Unfortunately, we didn’t get an opportunity to do anything on Monday before packing it in for the night. In doing some research on activities to do in Dunedin, we saw a couple of tours that peaked our interest. While looking into them more, we found out that they offer a package discount on the two tours together, so we opted to plan our day around them.
The first tour we set out to experience on Tuesday morning was the Cadbury Chocolate Factory Floor Tour. We called ahead on Monday evening to book a time slot to ensure that we wouldn’t miss out! After finding parking on the crowded city streets, we headed towards the factory which literally takes up one square block in Dunedin’s densely populated central business district. After purchasing our tickets and being provided with some tour information, we were still twenty minutes early, so we took advantage of the extra time by exploring the many displays around the lobby, including Christmas displays and a primer on the history of chocolate making.
