Shanghai Disneyland Resort will open on June 16, 2016 as the sixth Disney resort around the world. The other resorts are located in: Anaheim (Disneyland Resort), Orlando (Walt Disney World Resort), Tokyo (Tokyo Disney Resort), Paris (Disneyland Paris Resort) and Hong Kong (Hong Kong Disneyland Resort). As someone who has been to every Disney park around the world, I am excited for the opening of Shanghai’s park since it will be quite different from the others.
Instead of following the “Magic Kingdom” style layout and lands, Shanghai Disneyland will be a bit different. Main Street has been replaced by the Gardens of Imagination and Adventureland has been split into Adventure Isle and Treasure Cove. (Home to a new take on Pirates of the Caribbean). While Fantasyland and Tomorrowland stick around, Space Mountain is yesterday’s news and has been replaced by the TRON Lightcycle roller coaster.
Yesterday in celebration of the 100 day countdown to opening day, the resort released a bunch of new on the ground photos showing off the park and the resort. I think even non-Disney enthusiasts will appreciate how good this place looks. I can’t wait for my visit in October! All photos are courtesy of the Shanghai Disney Resort. Enjoy!

As an US expat based in Shanghai and a Disney fan that has visited all of the parks, I am also very excited for the park opening. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions about Shanghai!
We have a trip penciled in for next fall, combined with Hong Kong Disneyland. Super psyched! We visited Tokyo Disney Resort last year and have a Disneyland Paris trip scheduled for this October. As you can tell, we’re Disney fanatics. 🙂

Thanks Neal I will keep that in mind. I have only been to Shanghai once and loved it. I can’t wait to go back.
