Chase Southwest 50k Offer
Chase has brought back the 50k miles offer for their Southwest Airlines co-branded credit card. Marketed as two free flights, this bonus is a pretty good deal and is worth about $800. You earn the miles after spending $2,000 on the card in the first three months. The $99 annual fee is NOT WAIVED the first year.
The issue here is that it is available AT LEAST 9 months out of the year. Sometimes it is made available through affiliates and official channels and other times it is only through special links.
Right now the official Chase Southwest site only offers the normal 25,000 points, but in-flight they are giving a link to the 50,000 points offer.
The Companion Pass
Many people including myself have been able to get both the Southwest personal and business cards to get 100,000 of the 110,000 miles needed for a compassion pass.
If you are in the market for the card or have ever considered it, the best time to apply to get the companion pass is early in the year, since the pass is good for all of the year you get it and the entire next year as well.
You could theoretically apply for the card now and just make sure you hit the bonus threshold in early January, but I would wait a little longer. In my opinion there really isn’t an urgency to apply at this moment.
With that said, if you have been looking for a Southwest 50k offer, then here is the link. It is a direct link to the Chase site and is the same as the one being given out in flight. Enjoy!

I just found your article and wanted to inquire on a couple of points. If I were to sign up for the Rapid Rewards Plus and the Rapid Rewards Premier and received a 50k points bonus on each assuming I met the minimum intro purchase requirements, would I be eligible to receive two free flights? One using points and the other using the companion fare? Obviously taking into consideration the taxes are extra as well as the $99 and $69 annual fees would be costs to consider in the equation. Thank you for the information, it is much appreciated!
The cost of flights in points is determined by the monetary cost of the flights. Once you reach 110,000 points then you will receive a companion pass. The companion pass allows someone to travel for free with you. For example, if a flight is 20,000 miles roundtrip plus $11.20 then you can add the companion for 0 points and $11.20.
Would one be able to apply to the Premier Card if they already hold the Plus Card? Does Chase consider them different cards?
So these 50,000 points will immediately qualify you for A-List status? Also, does every point you earn for spend count for status qualification? I ask because the Chase website lists 15k tier-qualifying points (1,500 per $10k in spend) per year as an additional benefit.
These points along with points earned through spend on the card qualify for the companion pass, but not A-List status.
