Not much new here, but Southwest has sent out an email to Rapid Rewards members with a little news. Â Firstly, they have committed that Rapid Rewards will be the loyalty program of the combined Southwest/AirTran going forward. Â This has widely been known to be the case, but they confirmed it nonetheless. Â Also, they have stated that the airline will be fully integrated by the end of 2014. Â Lastly, to streamline the process of combining programs, Rapid Rewards has updated their Terms and Conditions. Â The updated terms and condition can be found here.
For me, the exciting part of this integration will be the ability to book AirTran’s international routes on the Southwest site. (Currently you can only book AirTran’s domestic routes on Southwest.com) Â Since Jasmine and I will have the companion pass soon, I love that we will soon have even more choices of where to fly with our Rapid Rewards points. What do you think? Â Are you excited that the Southwest/AirTran merger will soon be complete?
