Southwest has a great promotion that can easily earn you a promotional Companion Pass that you can use for about two months. All you need to do is register and take one flight. Let’s see how it works.
The Offer
Here is how to receive your Promotional Companion Pass:
- Register and purchase a round trip or two one-way flights by 9/9
- Travel by 11/18
- Companion flies free (must pay taxes and fees from $5.60 one-way) between 1/6/2022 – 2/28/2022
To register for this promotion, you will need to provide your Southwest Rapid Rewards account number at the time of registration. Only revenue flights will qualify for this promotion. Companion Pass, charter flights, reward and group travel, and Southwest Vacations packages do not qualify as one-way or round trip revenue flights for this promotion. Changes made to any itinerary after purchase of a one-way or round trip revenue flight may eliminate qualification for this promotion.

Does anyone know how this mixes with the accelerated A-List promo they put up a week or so ago?
I’ve registered for both and I’m wondering if they stack
I don’t think “stacking” is the right term here as they are 2 different programs. that being said, if you need to take one RT for the CP and two RT for A-List I don’t see how one of those couldn’t be used for both promos. I’m certainly planning on that happening.

Is see a major drawback that you cant buy airfare for the companion pass until 1/6/22. So by then SW airfare will be higher due to short travel notice. If I’m reading fine print correctly.

I believe they are saying your companion can fly between those dates on flights you have purchased for those dates. Not that they can’t be purchased until then.

I agree the wording is poor.
Try moving the “flights purchased” part to the end of the sentence. I’m pretty sure that’s how it’s intended..

This will be a “filler” as I earn a real CP during those first 2 months of the year.
